Don't really have time to watch entire video. Unfortunately youtube doesn't allow links these days,otherwise I would have linked hundreds of studies to back up my claims. I've been keto/carnivore for 2 years,lost roughly 70 pounds but I am never going back to it partially due to breach of trust by these "experts". It looks like the "experts" you interviewed are mostly low carb/keto /carnivore and most are self-proclaimed "experts". Anecdotes are NOT scientific evidence due to almost infinite number of confounding variables. Expert opinion(actual expert's not self-proclaimed ones') is the lowest form of scientific evidence. Best forms of evidence are randomized clinical trials(RCTs) ,meta-analyzes and Mendelian randomization trials (genetic studies)they give us the most confidence. So about the list. 1. Prioritize protein-no argument here scientific evidence confirms it. 2. Avoid vegetable and seed oils- based on what evidence? I am extremely angry at dr. Berry for straight up LYING in my face about saturated fat being healthy and unsaturated fats being unhealthy. Also angry at myself for believing this BS without asking for evidence. Dr. Berry straight up ignored or dismissed 50 years of scientific studies on the health hazards of saturated fat and smeared unsaturated fats with zero quality evidence to back his claims. Replacing saturated fat for unsaturated fat in a diet is PROVEN by countless studies to decrease the risk of heart disease stroke heart attack myocardial infarction etc. 3 . Eat less sugar-it's not essential for our lives,same as ultra-processed foods and caloric drinks-they only hurt us-science backs it up. 4. supplements are worse than real food-mostly true,supplementing vitamin D(and maybe B12) in 99% of all cases is a good idea especially if you have low sun exposure. 5. Fruits/vegetables are excellent sources of minerals and micronutrients, anti-cancer phytochemicals and fiber( fiber feeds gut bacteria and they feed our gut cells making us healthier),also fermented foods are a good idea too . 6. Chill pill- if that means minimize stress,then yes go for it. Sometimes these "experts" show studies that specifically favor their point of view(and don't show dozens that don't)-that's cherry picking and completely unscientific. Feel free to insult me I don't care. If you are intrested in actual nutrition science you can search Gil Carvalho among other guys who provide extensive high quality scientific evidence for EVERY claim they make . That said do what you want-it's your life. Even ignore the evidence if the evidence doesn't sit well with you. I'm out.

Great video! So much great information. I used to have high anxiety and was on medication for it. I have had it since I was at least 7 years old. A couple of years ago I started reading the Bible from start to finish and as I did that my relationship with God became stronger. My anxiety started to disappear. Then I changed my diet, I only eat animal products because I don’t like fruits and vegetables. I am off medications and anxiety is gone.

I too have been doing a meta analysis of you tube diets. My results are if you eliminate processed food and very high sugar you can succeed. Carnivore, vegan, omnivore, plant based, low carb, low fat, and on and on all a great success as long as processed food and added sugar are eliminated. Just my observation.
@sarahwong5592
@sarahwong5592 Жыл бұрын
100% agree that EVERYONE needs to avoid excessive sugar (and it doesn't take that much to be excessive) and seed oils and processed "foods." But beyond that, there is individual variation. It isn't the case that for all of those options any one of them can work for anyone; but for each of those options there are people for whom it is the optimal choice. Genetics and microbiome both play a big role in determining that, because especially when it comes to plant foods, our microbes are really responsible for digesting those. For people with a healthg GI tract and good microbial diversity, plants are great. My daughter and my husband thrive eating lots of veggies. Some people can't eat any plants at all or they suffer horribly with autoimmune disease (e.g. Mikhaila Peterson, who experienced this essentially from birth).

I tried Wim Hof breathing this year and it changed my life in just a matter of days. I did a few cold showers. I will keep those in the "in case of emergency" category. The breathing helped so much that I don't feel I need the cold therapy. The breathing reduced stress which increased clarity and purpose, keeps my mind from looping/easier to fall asleep, eliminated my need to make lists, and just generally makes me relax and enjoy life more.

Thank you! This is a perfect video to explain the reality to people who ask me questions. I will send this video to them. People see my results and can't believe them. My journey started 1 year ago. Lost 75lbs. Was an extreme diabetic. Completely out of the norms... to the point I was studied by top doctors in canada for years. I had so many digestion problems that they took out 4 feet of my big intestine... I had full access to the "best" care. The moment I stopped listening to the specialists, all issues are now mostly gone! I simply started applying what is in this eye-opening video for newbies.

I've found it very important to cross reference, consume all types of info, and as you best phrased it, take a good dose of "chill pills" and letting everything simmer down/dont be so rigid and over think. I got bloodwork that shows my magnesium was “normal “ but my vitamin D was deficient. I’ve never been regular in my entire life until I began a course of vitamin D3 + magnesium citrate. I have been taking 2 pills of each per day ( vitamin D3 with a meal and the magnesium C at night bf bed). Life. Changing. I am utterly regular for the first time in my adult life. It taught me a huge lesson - nutrition matters so much 💯 one pill each does not resolve btw. And they must be taken in tandem or It doesn’t work 🤷🏻‍♀️

Please do a video on things that they didn’t agree on. I think in away that can be more valuable. This was a great video but I do believe most people know how important protein is and how bad sugar is for you and how important fruits and vegetables are. Unfortunately people choose to ignore it. But finding out things that they didn’t come to a common ground on would be helpful cause I’d instantly want to do more research on whatever they didn’t agree on and figure out what works best for me individually. Amazing video, you’re a beast!

Thank you for this video. My mom was 85, fell and broke her hip and the hospitals and elder care killed her 15 months later. She caught everything. I'm 73 and ketovore but I know I don't get enough protein. I am even going through a meat aversion right now. I just purchased bags of Carnivore Crisps hoping I can kick up my protein this way. I'll cook a ribeye, eat the cap and get rid of the rest. I'll cook up hamburger patties and eat one. I don't know why I'm going through this aversion. I will buy scallops, shrimp, tuna fish and I'm ok with seafood. Your videos are great. Keep up the good work and getting the word out there. :)
@pondboy3682
@pondboy3682 Жыл бұрын
Sorry about your mom. That sounds like it was brutal to witness. As for meat aversion, I went through something like that a bit this year, too. A list of the top 5 most micronutrient-dense foods Dr. Cywes presented from a study in Utah was a helpful answer for me. For a few months, I mainly ate oysters and dairy. Both have a slightly richer micronutrient profile than red striated muscle meat. Eggs are good, too, but need calcium to balance. Fairlife Core Power is an especially high-protein milk option, a little artificial, but still 42g of bovine milk-sourced protein in milk. Dr. Cywes didn't recommend fiddling with the natural balance of milk like that, but it made getting protein easier for me. I'm starting to reincorporate meat again now gradually. I think that as long as you live by these 6 rules in the video, listening to your body is important. Just ride the wave and give your bod some trust! I hope that maybe something in my ramblings resonates or helps! Best wishes!

Thanks a lot Lilly! You rock! There is one major and extremely important diet fact that you missed on your list! (Probably because you assumed it as obvious, but I think should not be obviated.) And that fact is total QUANTITY! We should NOT eat IN EXCESS! I guess all of your guests would agree that no-one should be eating in excess and yet 95% of the US citizens are doing it! And 98% of the US population are sick due to eating in excess and because of eating shitty food!

A running coach told me. Food has 2 purposes. 1-fuel 2-joy/happness 3-weight loss Then he said if your car is in the garage and you’re not using it, you don’t need to keep filling it up . He said, un active people over eating since everything in a cycle downward I guess it comes right back to that eating in the perimeter of the grocery store and that’s what we try to do great really enjoyed this. as a recovering vegan, who found out I just wasn’t getting enough of anything, and I started getting more injuries and more everything was falling apart so your videos really help me see the correctness

Lilly, thank you so much for the effort you put into making these quality videos. I want you to know that I have a holistic approach and many things I could recommend for the "Chill Pill", but honestly becoming Catholic is greatly underrated and misunderstood in our world. This is where I finally found peace after a long journey. Hopefully you or your followers consider trying it too. I used to be agnostic in high school and explored many things before my conversion. Christianity of any kind was last on my list. I was surprised as anyone but truly it was a game-changer and wouldn't trade it for anything. God bless+

They don't even care or recognize how much better my health and mental state is. It is so hard to have fun with them anymore. Book recommendations - one that was pivotal in my journey to chill is “Soul Keeping” by John Ortberg. It was through this book/video series that I was introduced to Dallas Willard and Dallas’ words of wisdom of “ruthlessly eliminating hurry” from our life. I also recommend just about anything from Dallas Willard, even watching his interviews. The man has (had, he passed in 2013) such a soothing demeanor and calm about him! Most of his writing pretty much demonstrates how he reached and maintained that level of chill. Excellent summation of what you’ve gleaned from so many interviews and I agree in that’s what I’ve also gleaned from watching/listening to so many interviews/podcasts. Thanks bunches, Lillie Kane!

Chill Pill: Breathing. I know it sounds "woo woo" but honestly, it helps in calming the "hurry feeling" or the anxiousness. Yoga, Pilates both incorporate breathing techniques. Also, you can often find breathing exercises/programs online or in person. I use Pilates and it's fun and helpful to me ( I'm older than you, 61 years). Great content Lillie!

I’m the worst at breathing 😅 I’ve been practicing it though and it is becoming less “foreign to my body”. People wouldn’t think breathing would be hard but I find a way to overthink it! Thanks for your words of encouragement 😊

Hi Lillie, I'm fairly new to your channel but my son has said for a long time "Lillie Kanes videos are so informative, she's awesome!" It's hard for me to tell a story and keep it short so I will just throw it down like this- age 16 stopped wearing shorts, lumpy legs, diagnosed PID, age 26 diagnosed with fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, age 30 diagnosed CFS, HBP, Borderline diabetic 5.6, age 45 diagnosed Dercums Disease, lymphoedema, lipoedema, hundreds of mixed type fatty lipomas from head to toe, I go raw vegan for 5 months drop from 385lbs to 325lbs (always hard to lose weight) then found beyond meat and gluten free desserts, got real congested, heavy limbs and 24 hour pain again. Depression, anxiety, 17 year relationship with father of my two youngest, very abusive across the spectrum, got himself in trouble landing himself in prison, no more abuse, yay! Teens relieved Dad is away. But now I'm suffering extreme fatigue, feeling sicker, went from 264 lbs to 184 lbs in a year and eating a sucky SAD diet all along. I have no Dr, mine changed to Pallivive/ hospice care in another town, my specialist Dr. Karen L Herbst PHD also left for another state. It's been several years since I've seen a Dr but have been on Social Security Disability for 24 years now and have Medicare & Medicaid. My insurance company sent me a yearly health questionnaire, I filled it out, sent it back in May 2023, they sent back a FIT test (at home colon cancer screening)which I completed, sent back. June 17th, the day before my 53rd birthday I get a call from the lab saying my test came back positive/abnormal/ blood in stool. I remember all the times my 29 year old son spoke about you Lillie, Jordan Peterson and others about the carnivore diet and showed him my results on paper when they sent them to me by mail. I told him at that moment I am going carnivore and that I had started watching the videos of the carnivore community. He handed me one of his credit cards and told me to do weekly shopping and prepare food (carnivore diet) for me and make him a daily packed lunch 5 days a week for his work days. He also bought me a Ninja 10 qt double air fryer hoping to make cooking a little easier on me, my gas stove and oven do not work and I use a 20 year old electric cooktop and a tiny toaster oven. I started my carnivore journey November 19th, 2023 and I'm confident and feel positive I will start feeling better soon ( energy & less to zero pain)😊 Thank you Lillie for everything & your funny shorts 😁❣️

1. try whatever feels best for you, im just gonna tell "my part/story", take it if you find smth useful. 2. also had weight struggle (28j ,male, 1,78m, 135kg), did keto for 3,5 months now, 20kg less (115kg now), got rid of headaches (1-2 a week) and being unmotivated (energy-downs) 3. other things i learned (that might have helped me): 3.1 OMAD (synergizes well with KETO since fat-adapt and triggers autophagozytosis). should be same for carnivore if you eat enough fat in / with your meat. doesent have to be 70%, just decent amounts (dont eat lean meat to much basicly) 3.2 you need these things daily since you cant store them: protein, B vitamins (minus B12 since liver-shenanigans), Vitamin C. YOU get all of these via carnivore, but if you dont eat enough organ meats AND roast your meat over longer times with higher heat, you kill or dont get a lot of the vitamin C (technically 1kg of muscle meat a day contains enough but its the one thing i would try to compensate if i was you with red bell pepper or smth a day to your meat- un cooked- ). IF you eat organs meats, make sure its grass fed quality, organs dont just assimilate all the vitamins but also all the shit that needs to be kept out of your other cells and be processed to stop being poisonous or otherwise detrimental. 3.3 dont forget your fish. fatty seefish. preferably from a sea that isnt as heavy metal plagues as others. wild fatty see fish contains the basicly only source of anything you can eat but supplements that is vaguely high enough in omega-3 to compensate our high omega-6 consumption (ratio of 5:1 is very important). be careful with your oils when roasting meat (unhealthy carnivore/ keto) if you use seedoils e.g. sunflower oil it has a omega ratio of 120:1, which is very bad. other oils have to many omega fatty acids (double unsaturated) and can become transfats easily when heated. so to raost smth in the pan either use its natural fit it comes with (fatty meat) or cocos-oil / ghee. these both have high SATURATED fats, so they dont turn into transfats from being heated. saturated fats arent unhealthy by default (just as omega-6 isnt) but the RATIO is important. so (as i do keto) i can recommend consuming unsaturated fats in another way (for me that is a salad, dont know how carnivores would do that- besides massive amounts of fish -. during evolution we probably had enough unsaturated fats in meat, but with what they feed them now and how stressed the animals are...>/how little fish we eat compared to back in the days). 3.4 the omega-3 in fish thats of interest (aka flax seed oil has omega-3 as well but its not sufficient because it only has ALA) are DHA and EPA. DHA especially is important for brain and eyes. your brain is made of around 60% fat, 15% of that are ONLY DHA. imagine that. and we dont eat mostly anything containing DHA in our diets nowadays. no wonder people have ADHD and whatnot other syndroms nowadays. also (for me) explains why very strict (high fat) keto helps epileptic people to get rid of their seizures. (might be a different mechanism but for me its explained by the link if the brain being made up of 60% fat to begin with). 3.5 i drink only water and no foods are processed (besides chesse and butter and the likes). ah i forgot to mention : ghee, butter, rind-talk, cheeses, etc. have HIGH transfats amounts as well (which for a couple days kept me from eating them when finding out) BUT those transfats are just a fiew isomeres (derivations of each other) naturally prodcued by bacteria in cows stomaches. they arent unhealthy, we are used to consuming them and there are even ones that are supposedly HEALTHY for us. i believe CLA or smth was it called. meanwhile INDUSTRIAL transfats, from heating double ansaturated fats like seed oils, produces many more isomeres that we ARENT used to, that have MANY very bad impacts on health. TLDR look into omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio, which fats are healthy and why, eat your fatty see-fish regulary, consider your Vit C levels and maybe allowing one veggie (red bell pepper e.g.) or organ meats. i personally am rocking KETO + OMAD (for autophagozytosis) + water only + HIIT (high intensity interval training) + whole foods / no processed shit. use coconut fat or Ghee or (if low heat) olive oil for your cooking, dont use seed oils. wish you good luck, stay strong dont give up!
