Saturn owners seem like they'd be the opposite of snobby. Looks like a fun show. It's disappointing how GM neglected Saturn but we still got some interesting cars.

We're proud to be unicorns. We know we'll never beat a Mustang or even a Dodge Daytona. Except maybe the RedLine versions. Just proud of our simple cars for special people.❤❤😅

Growing up in the 90s I used to see Saturns everywhere and no one thought anything of them. Maybe it's just nostalgia but I miss those cars and wouldn't mind owning a clean one with a manual.

My mom used to drive a 2001 SC1 she bought new which was a dark purple color I believe was called black raspberry. Lots of memories in that thing. In her 15 year of owning it, it broke down once which turned out to be a very minor problem. I wish we still had it because I would've loved for it to be my first car.

As a person who owned a Saturn 20 years ago and thought it was a great car, I’m glad they still have a following.

Somehow became a Saturn fan when I bought my SC2 two years ago. I was intrigued before I got my Saturn, but now I think I understand what made Saturn fans stay. My SC2 is very fun to drive, and it’s unique as a bonus.

I really miss Saturn, drove a 5 speed LS for 8 years, always was fund on the company, GM really should have kept the idea of saturn around, they look so good in the 90's...
@SouthsideKidd5506 ай бұрын
Saturn shouldve broke a loose from GM. I think Saturn would've done good if they were their own brand. I love Saturns. They actually were some pretty reliable and stout cars. My Mom owned 3 Saturns while I was in grade school. She had a 1993 SL2, a 1998 SL2 and a 2007 Aura XE 3.5. However, she bought her Aura 6 months after I graduated HS in 2006. That Aura hauled alot of my dorm room stuff too. She actually still owns her Aura (currently has 155k miles) along with her 2019 Toyota Highlander.

This is amazing. I have a 2008 Saturn Aura that I’ve had since high school (13 years and counting)! I’ve put mood lights in it, K&N air filters, OEM chrome wheels still on it, Pioneer sound system, rear spoiler, tinted windows and a lot more over the years! Still get compliments on it to this day - I’ve put around ~42,000 miles on it in the last 13 years total, really trying to baby it. Also, I have a 2004 Olds Bravada I’m going to put a sound system in and have tinted the windows - it has just over 99,000 miles on it, I’ve had it for 5 years and have put about 11,000 miles on it total since I bought it. I’m also trying to baby it too for shows like this. Really been looking for some meet ups, really cool to know this exists! I’m going to have to get my Saturn and my gear ready and attend - cool stuff! 👍🏾🔥 Shame what GM let happen to brands like Saturn and Oldsmobile, two of my favorites.

It is sad what happened to Saturn. GM mis-managed Saturn and shut it down after going bankrupt in 2009. Saturns were not supposed to be similar to Chevy, Olds, Pontiac or Buick. Like Ford, GM doesn't want to make cars anymore because they are less profitable then SUVs.

Check out Motor Trend's July, 2023 edition "Back To The 90's". They did Two extensive stories on Saturn. Basically the other divisions, the older brothers, except Cadillac, were jealous of the new baby, Saturn, in the house. Once Daddy, then C.E.O. Roger E. Smith, was out the house, the older brothers conspired to get rid of the new baby. And their plan worked. Sadly.😰😥😢😭

My exwife had a first-gen SC1 in hs/college in the early 2000s and we traded it for a full-loaded Ion sedan in 2004. That was actually a solid car for the $18k we paid back then … even drove it as far as Atlanta to VA Beach once - definitely was a cool little car. Those really clean examples look absolutely incredible!

Greatest car I ever owned in my life was a 1998 Saturn Sl2 back in 2016. Lasted only 2 years but never spent a dime in repairs, ran up and down the New Jersey Turnpike at 85 mph, consistently got 33 mpgs. Only fault was that it drank oil like a fish but totally awesome mobile.

My current car is a 96 sw2. Its my first car. Being a Saturn guy at the junkyard I can already tell you I thought the same of that kind of conversion. Its interesting. And it would theoretically be easy to do seeing as your just swapping the fenders, front bumper, headlights and headlight bevels, and the hood. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks it would be an interesting adjustment.

In my local I can see a SC2 every single day, seems like a 1996 model. That car impressed me by tons of smoke come out from exhaust pipe when it start, I never seen that much smoke in any other car, I'm not sure how owner made it😂
@bwofficial17769 ай бұрын
Mid-90s to mid-00s GMs will run longer poorly than many cars will run at all. They're nearly unkillable.
@xdavie38 ай бұрын
Smoke from burning oil. Saturn 1.9 motors didn't have oil return holes in the pistons, causing a tendency for the rings to stick, hence the oild burning.
