I'm not sure why but when you said "this is what I'm alive for" I burst out into tears. I feel like that perfectly describes how your experiences and feelings should be described as. Maybe your life doesn't have a purpose but maybe your life is the purpose. Idk, thank you for this vid dodie, you help my life make sense xx

I am an aviation geek. I love planes. I love flying airplanes, taking off, breathe in how wonderful our planet is and land it by myself and get out of the plane with the biggest smile you might have ever seen. I am scared of heights, though (Yes, that is possible)... :D And which is most important: I would never jump out of a plane (since it is abuse of aviators rescue tools or what ever you would call that in English- I translated it word for word from German...) !!!! You can be proud of yourself and maybe because of you I will try this f***ing misbehaviour in aerospace once in my lifetime... I'm pretty sure I'd love it, if I tried. :D Sorry for this weird comment... I'm pumped somehow... I want to try it. If you can do it, I can do it as well... don't I? :)

Hey Dodie! I was really sad (and very nauseous) at my 5 to 8:30 band rehearsal and I thought I'd go home and collapse, but then i watched this video and it made me happy. You being happy made me happy and I'm so glad you got to experience skydiving! I used to be terrified of even the idea of skydiving, but now im having second thoughts because of this video. I hope you have a good week! :)

Hearing you talk about this whole experience and the way you felt just filled me up with so much warmth and I cried a little. This was absolutely wonderful! Videos like this remind me how much I love just simple storytelling videos. There's so much value to just listening to people tell you how they felt in a moment and you don't need fancy effects or a huge budget and it's just beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I'm going to save this for a bad day and watch it again to remind myself that the world can be a really great place.

I've just been watching this video and smiling so much every time Dodie talks about the sense of joy she felt. I'm so lucky not to have experienced depression, but watching her videos have taught me not to take my happiness for granted. And. I'm just so happy that she can experience happiness really and truly and probably even more intensely than I have. Yeah it does look like a hickey, but occasionally getting really painful hormonal acne like she does, I do get large, inflamed, pink bumps on my neck that look like that, so we can never know for sure. xD She does seem to have another one on the other side during her CokeTV video, so if they're practically symmetrical like that, I just end up assuming from personal experience that it's acne.

When you said you weren't obsessing over feeling in the moment, over trying to feel happy, I almost started crying, because nobody has ever described that to me before. I knew I wasn't alone in depression, but that specific feeling of trying to be happy, trying to take in what's around you and be present and be happy and appreciate it, is such a big thing to me, and you nailed it right on the head. So thank you for making me feel like I'm not alone.

I did a skydive about two years ago and whilst I was about 300 or so metres from the ground the parachute collapsed- definitely the most terrifying moment of my life. Me and the instructor the I was strapped to fell for about 100 metres before the winds changed and re-inflated the parachute (thank the gods). After an extremely bumpy landing the first thing my instructor shouted was "WE'RE ALIVE!!"... Comforting, right? That being said, I'd definitely do it again- I mean what are the odds of me almost dying twice?? (Famous last words I guess)

This honestly inspired me so much. I'm only 15 but i've lived my life to the safest, not even liking roller coasters. Recently, I've grown so tired and so dreary of that. I was like you where it was absolute no go skydiving but seeing this and hearing about it, it's what i need. just watching this has inspired me to say yes to things and take risks even if my body and my anxiety is saying no no no. so thank you, so much, Dodie.

just listening to you talk about it made me happy. it brought back memories of when i last felt that way -- immensely happy and like everything was okay. i was in gibraltar and walked to the very top of the rock and looked all around me. it was so beautiful i started to tear up. thank you for this dodie. for a brief 10 minutes, you helped me bring back that nostalgic feeling i thought i had forgotten.

This made me so happy to watch, well done!! I related so much to this, we went on a trip with school to Cape Town when I was 15 and it had been mentioned from the start that we could abseil down Table mountain if we wanted, I have a massive fear of heights so I had said 100% no way from the beginning. I told everyone every time we talked about it I couldn't. But then then closer and closer the time got to doing it and people were getting more excited I started saying "I wish I could but I know I just can't". On the day I ended up going up the mountain on the cable car for moral support and when I got to the top it was the most beautiful day and I'd never seen a view like it but also knew unless I came back somehow one day I would never see again - and i said yes. I've never panicked so much, let's be honest when you've chickened out of abseiling down something which is half the size of a house, its a bit of a step to do the highest natural abseil in the world! I felt a bit numb the whole way and don't remember a huge amount but the feeling at the bottom was one of the best I've ever felt, so so happy! I don't think I've ever felt so proud, fair to say I had my parents sobbing because they never thought I could do it. Well done Dodie, you should be so proud!

I relate so much to the part about appreciating the moment. I struggle so much with trying to live in the moment and trying so hard to enjoy everything and it always just stresses me out. Hearing you explain how you were able appreciate and just be in the moment is really inspiring to me.

Your description of falling sounds so beautiful, I teared up a bit. Although it was probably more like "OH GOD I FELL OUT OF A PLANE AHHH" I've craved that feeling for so long. I'm truly so proud of you.

before watching this, i thought i would never once go skydiving because i'm terrified of anything going wrong. i throw away lots of opportunities because i think that the one time i go and do something, it'll go bad and something won't work. however, after seeing this and hearing your experience, it makes want to go and do it. (i mean, i can't go skydiving yet, because i'm not old enough, but once i am old enough, i think i will)

Dodie, wow, I'm so happy for you! I completely know how it feels when you are just filled to the brim with excitement and happiness, even though your usual state of mind is quite the opposite. I am also a victim of depersonalization, along with being a person that rarely expresses their feelings/emotions (physically and mentally). It's a feeling that everyone should feel at least once in their life, because as you said, it adds to the overall appreciation of the world and one's life. I also want to mention how amazing this video was! It's definitely one of my favorite videos because of the sheer happiness that comes out of you when talking about it, your fantastic storytelling, the amazing message, and your cute sick voice! I hope you experience these bubbly moments more often because you deserve it. :D

I've wanted to go skydiving for years and years and have dreamt about the day I'm finally 18 and I'll be allowed to do it without my parents permission (same with tattoos) but it's just crazy because I'm almost 18. I'm nearly there. I've been dreaming about turning 18 since I was 11 and now I almost am holy shit where has the time gone.
