One of my friends went through this same thing. She found out that her husband had a secret credit card and was also having an affair and using that credit card to treat his girlfriend to dinner, trips, etc. To avoid getting caught he had the cc bill sent to a secret PO Box, he had a portion of his check being direct deposited into a secret bank account, new items were “gifts” from employees and clients, etc.... the lies ran DEEP. They are now divorced. If someone can lie like that, I don’t know how they can ever be trusted again.

To be fair, some partners keep fairly separate finances. My husband and I talk about our goals, agree on who pays what bills and then trust the other to follow through with those agreements. I don't care what my husband spends his money on as long as our bills stay paid and we're not taking on debt. I know that Dave preaches fully combined finances, but we are happy and stress free. I think it would be more stressful if he knew exactly how much I pay for my skincare and I could see that he bought the wrong motorcycle part twice before figuring out what he needed😂
