I am now 71 years old. When I was young and had problems with my car, there were no Scotties to learn from, answer questions and get advice. My resources were asking professional mechanics for help, they were usually too busy, but I eventually got the information that I needed. Now in modern times we have the internet and You Tube, but nothing beats a lifetime of experience. That's what Scotty brings to today and he does so in a highly informative, truthful and entertaing way. Many of his opinions and experiences brings back memories to me. He is spot on!

I like what Scotty said about a teenagers first car. My first car was a retired Ford Fairlane 500 police interceptor. Yes, Scotty nailed it, I did test the car out, and YES, IT WAS FAST. That thing would out run Pontiac GTOs, Olds 442s, 396 Chevy SS. I did test the top speed, got it up to 145 mph, then I chickened out (I didn't trust the recapped tires)! ! !

@Peder Hansen People are funny that way, they tend to hate to admit when they made a bad choice... Back in 1988 I bought a new Honda Civic LX - and a salesman in the company I worked at had bought the Hyundai Excel. Well he LOVED that P.O.S. - despite him being on his 3rd transmission, and a plethora of other problems. I took my civic out to 251k mi and I beat the crap outta her the whole way - and all I ever put into it was an igniter for the ignition that cost me $80 and wearable parts! But I've picked some losers over the years - a '97 Dodge Caravan & a 1990 Ford Ranger to name a couple.
