I just went for my 2nd time ever this past February and as a very casual visitor, Disney is incredible with everything they do. Compared to my local amusement park, it’s night and day. So I understand people have issues with things but man, if Disney was my local amusement park, talk about how spoiled I would be.
@NinthShinigami6 ай бұрын
@@firefly314 I get that, but my issue lies more in with how the parks are being slowly undermined, slowly sucking away at what made each park or ride special to begin with. Your point and perspective is not wrong or anything in the slightest, this is just how I feel as someone who’s always lived only 3 hrs away from the parks and has gone many years, almost annually…
@firefly3146 ай бұрын
@@NinthShinigami I totally understand. I could give you a million icks about my local park but if you visited you wouldn’t really get the icks, you would just have a nice time. It’s always interesting when a park changes because the things we loved when we were young become something new and in our eyes, can be seen as lesser in quality, value, etc. But people newer to the park in age or just first time visitors see it and have nothing to judge it against so they only see the positives. Nostalgia is just such a huge presence in our lives and how can we not be nostalgic about what we grew up with. Sorry for the tangent, I just find theme park discourse insanely fascinating.

True Disney story: I wear my Chacos EVERYWHERE every single day. My feet are used to them and love them. We got to Disney and had to walk pretty fast back to Oga’s for our reservation on day 1 of our week long trip. Side note, we live in Lubbock, TX which is essentially a desert, minimal humidity at all times. The Florida humidity in the air caused a different type of friction between my Chaco straps and my skin. After an hour my feet were full of blisters and I could barely walk in my favorite tried and true shoes. I had packed extra shoes, but they were back in the hotel room and I needed relief ASAP. We ended up going to a gift shop and getting me some crocs and the day was saved. But lesson learned: even if your very favorite pair of shoes have made it through every other adventure you’ve gone on, that doesn’t mean they will make it through Disney. Thanks for coming to my ted talk 😅

Breea is so relatable when it comes to heat, humidity, and directions. I pride myself on being great with maps, directions, etc. (one of my summer jobs was making road maps for the county gov't here in MD!), but when it gets hot and humid, I also get frazzled. This is why cast members are HEROES... they will always be willing to help. Even if they're overloaded with tasks, they will find a way to help you. Last time I was down there in EPCOT, a cast member helped me not only find where I was supposed to go, but also detoured me to get some water because they were concerned about my physical help as well. Cast members are heroes and they help keep the magic alive, so always ALWAYS be nice to them. Much respect. :)

Please provide a video on "Disney etiquette"🙏. We just returned and had an amazing time. Though it was beyond unreal how often we encountered fellow park goers displaying self-serving behaviors. Such as recording rides while sitting in the front of everyone, talking on phones on rides, cussing/fighting in front of everyone, leaving trash behind, just standing in front of walkers (should kindly move to the side)...the list could go on and on.
@OverlordZeroULTIMA6 ай бұрын
I know there's defiintely a vid out there, but I agree, there's nothing wrong with adding more. Of all places, you'd think Disney would be the least place to have people acting like this. :/ People will literally let their kids / themselves use the park flora as a bathroom and it's sick. :( Because of that, an entire location would have to be shut down so it can be cleaned and sanitized - things that really shouldn't have to happen because honestly? Are you all animals??

My pet peeve is people that don't move all the way over to the end of the row when they enter a show. They sit down in the middle of the row, when there are no bad seats anywhere in the theater. This happened to my mom and I in 2004. We went into The Enchanted Tiki Room in MK, and in the beginning of the show, the couple in front of us didn't follow the direction to move all the way over to the left and sat down right in the middle of the row. Well, I asked them to please move over nicely, twice. The third time, I didn't ask nicely. I just turned, looked past my mom, and said: "I don't know about you guys, but I don't like it when people crawl over me. So, I'll just sit right here." Then, my mom and I proceeded to almost sit in this couple's laps. They got up and moved really quickly. I got so many high fives all down the row. If that wasn't bad enough, when we were let out, the guy stuck his foot out for me to trip over. I saw it, and stomped on his foot.

My husband and I both need scooters. My biggest pet peeve at Disney is that everyone is walking, walking, walking, then BOOM stopped dead to chat. As you said move to the side. Another problem we have is Magic Kingdom at night. There are no lights on the paths or any lit signage directing people to the different lands or rides.

Transportation is NO JOKE. I was at Disney at the end of last month and had an 8:15 dining reservation. My group hopped the Monorail, used the resort side trick, and with 45 minutes to get to the restaurant we got stuck at one of the resort stops and ended up 10 minutes late because the monorail got stuck. Definitely build in time, and ask the cast members if you can still get your spot, and don’t treat them poorly if they absolutely can’t fit you back in.

Our family went to magic kingdom in Florida in June 2019…did the rope drop and we were miserable cause of heat and humidity. Didn’t do that many rides, terrible expensive food, and kids already fell asleep before the firework shows. Then this week June 2024, we went to Disneyland Anaheim. It wasn’t too crowded. The food was ok but still expensive. The weather was great not hot or humid, even had to wear a hoody for morning and at night. and we didn’t do the rope drop and got to the park around 9am and we did most of the rides and kids were able to see both the fantasmic and fireworks show. So my advice is to visit Disneyland instead of Disney world.

The beauty, majesty, and of course the peanut butter has been calling. We planned 3 nights of our stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge and I could not wait until that first night there. We were going to go down and get some Zebra Domes and this beautiful example of a snack. Alas, we left with only Zebra Domes. The brownie is no longer available. (They have some brownie crime against humanity that is covered with coconut in the cooler) They did have the brookie in the bakery case but I was too disappointed to partake. I would like to add to the mental/physical health section of this video for everyone like me who suffers from some manner of ADHD/anxiety/insomnia. Bring medication!!! On my last trip, I made the grave mistake of thinking I wouldn't have any issues sleeping because I'd be exhausted. What I failed to consider is that too much excitement and happiness can cause anxiety just as much as any negative feelings can. What actually ended up happening was my brain being flooded with so much adrenaline that I was essentially overstimulated for two days straight, plus anxiety from trying to sleep in a new place, and I went about 72 hours with maybe three hours of sleep. I don't even know how I managed to have a good time or not pass out at all those first couple of days, but it was not fun once the exhaustion finally overrode all the excess stimulus. So please, all who have similar afflictions, do not make my mistake! If you have prescribed meds, bring them. Bring melatonin, bring sleeping pills, bring anything that you think might help you sleep or at least relax. You deserve to enjoy yourself too!
