@@MispronouncedAdventures also seen in the other video where your car moved. In Lofoten at Unstad there was a Mercedes Vito which was flipped through the air on a other car. But it was mostly duo serious strong storm and fall winds from the mountains in this bay / Valley. See studs tires make a big difference on the ice condition with water but mostly we drive on asphalt or snow. Good that you did not slides towards the ocean down a the ditch

Road conditions definitely varied a lot during the course of the trip. Don’t think I would’ve had a chance trying to move the rock on top of the shoe!

I’m so glad you decided to go! This time of the year is the best - a good balance of daylight, nighttime for the Aurora, generally good weather, but still enough snow everywhere. The Norwegian Arctic is just the most magical region on earth. Doing it in your own self-built camper most be so incredible. Inspired here!

Hi Alex, I have been there 6 times but always in summer. On your next trip it is well worth the visit to the Viking museum in Leknes. There is a picturesque campsite there with it's own small harbour. Your excellent videos show me what I have missed in winter.

I had intended to visit! I think on the way down it was closed or just about to close given the time I passed. And unfortunately on the way back up the GPS took me a different route. But I intend to visit next time

@@MispronouncedAdventures In the summer months as well as the museum there are 2 Viking longships taking out tourists fora few hours with the locals all dressed in Viking clothes. Allow up to a day for the whole experience. Excellent free wifi in the cafe.

Didn't you fancy fishing the shoe out? Did I miss the point to all the hanging fish heads? , wise not to park next to ocean I'd say . Great out of the box viewing. Ps iv experienced - 27 in Poland

That shoe was well and truly firmly under a rock. As for the fish heads I think normally they are racked up there with the whole fillet/body to dry or cure and head remain at the end of the season.

Mega, just mega. Hoping to tour up there myself, with a sea kayak for approx 2 or 3 months. Thx for the video, some truely exceptional views. Pretty bold going up there in winter, I've been before and being so close to the ocean is influencing the temps positively, whereas inland it's just bonkers cold most probably.

I massively preferred the inland temperatures which way below zero. far safer to drive on than the fluctuating coastal temperatures. It would be great up there with a sea kayak!

It is disappointing to hear about the lack of overnighting in Norway. It's on my list of places to visit next summer when I can take a few weeks off work. I'll get up there anyway. Great video and all. 👍🚚

At least when I’m back up next winter, I won’t have a set return date, only limit should be my 90 days allowed in the Schengen zone. But probably make it a two month trip next Time

There isn't a lack of overnighting at all, it's just the summer in Lofoten is very crowded. Anywhere else it's free drinking water, free waste disposal etc. You won't have any issues with it.

The taste is indescribable, a little salty but very good. The heads are popular in nigeria, uses as a flavoring in food and full of protein.🇧🇻

Cant have a rainbow without rain! Could very well be, I am pretty good at modern Gaelic place names and you can often see The history of an area by the names, scotland and it’s modern Gaelic has Norse words and sounds in it. Im Scotish myself and my scotish surname is of Norse Origins

I did subsequently learn this later on when chatting to other people who knew correctly pronounce Å. I guess for me the sound doesn’t appear in my language and after all the channels called mispronounced!

Fluently no, my second best was Tashelhit ( a Berber language from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco when I have worked a lot ) I could do about 70 or phrases and broken sentences when I was there a lot. On top of that if I really thought about it I can probably do hello, goodbye & thank you and pronounced correctly in around 10+ languages I’ve worked in over the years.

You mean Extreme Spring vanlife right? Now do the same trip in January. Don't know how far down Sweden you are atm, but consider driving the wilderness road, E45. Not much to see along the coast, E4. I'm starting my spring vanlife tour from Arvidsjaur in a week, going south along the E45.

No idea if I’m honest. Most of the gritters, I saw, were literally laying rock grit. Most of the Nordics don’t seem to use salt like the UK. Make sense as would be next to useless as the temperature would easily be far below the freezing temperature of that.
