In the south like in Texas these ants are so common even ant keepers often kill these queens. I live in SD and just wish I could get a viable invicta queen to start a colony 😢

So sad that they have become illegal to keep here in Europe even though they are not inbreeding and a monogynous species. The ban is unlogical because they can't stand cold temperatures and do not inbreed. Tetramorium bicarinatum and Monomorium subopacum makes more sense to be on that list (I am not saying they should) than Solenopsis geminata.
