This is probably another one of those cases where way too much polish was put toward a punchline that really doesn’t deserve it, haha. Idk how obvious it is, but whenever I make vids I’m usually trying to teach myself how to do something new. In this case: particle systems & cloth simulations in Blender! So it’s less “joke w/ way too much polish” & more “animation practice w/ a punchline thrown in”
Just as a heads up, I’m still in the thick of my animation classes & recently took up a part-time job that’ll hopefully lead to better equipment for this channel. If it were up to me, I’d just focus on those 2 things, but YT requires creators to upload at least once every 6 months or lose monetization ^^; I currently have both short & long-form vids in the works, but this 6-month time limit combined w/ how busy I’ll be probably means the shorter ones will get priority for the time being (for context, a video like “What Percent of Splatoon 3 Players are Octolings?” took me ~9 months to make)
But enough about that, let’s talk Deino! I think its evolution Zweilous has been one of, if not my favorite pokemon for quite some time now. I’m definitely in the group of folks who prefer it over Hydreigon. Hydreigon’s not a bad design by any means, but to me it loses a lot of the charm the 1st 2 forms had; its eyes are no longer covered & now there’s a “main” head instead of multiple bickering ones.
Violet’s dex entry theorizes that Hydreigon only became hostile after centuries of persecution by humans, so maybe someday we’ll get to see a past version of it where the 3 heads get along peacefully ^^ btw my Zweilous’ nickname is Peregrine b/c they’ve got a pair-of-grins :] :]

I got this weird dream where i lived in a tall house. I look outside the window and see a bunch of Deino. Amongst the deino was a green one. I thought: i want that Shiny, but i cant reach it. Suddenly, the Shiny Deino decided to vertically scale the wall, come through my window, and i went to pet it.

Yeah the anime always portrays Deino as happy-go-lucky, but iirc its dex entries say it's not suitable for beginner trainers b/c it's constantly biting & ramming things to sense them ;o;

ah gosh this lil guy. I never got to play gen 5 (or really any gen past 4; the wonders and joys of being flat broke lol...), but upon discovering deino (and his lil sprite animations for that gen), I was instantly enamored. I wanted one so bad. the fact that he evolves into thangs with multiple heads is also neat; I just wish they got along. also iirc, deino is either blind or cannot see well at all (gee I wonder why, with bangs like those lol), so the purple bits all over are apparently supposed to be bruises! D: poor babies. no wonder they're kinda grumpy, especially since one of the few ways they can interact with the world around them without walking into things is using their mouths. I suppose that could be why in-universe, that people don't like them... poor lil muppets. they're so cute. absurd little dinosaur-dragons.

Yeah more recent Pokedex entries for Hydreigon theorize that the species wasn't originally hostile but became so after centuries of persecution by humans, possibly due to the misunderstanding you just described. I guess in that way they're a bit like sharks, where biting is their primary way of getting info about their surroundings, to others' misfortune ;o;
