This was something I wanted to do when I was younger. Watched a few “How To” vids on handstands, but never went through with it. I do have an empty wall in my room where I can practice & if helps strengthening my fingers, maybe I’ll consider trying it soon

Very quick progress! You're going to be perfect it soon enough. Some tips from my handstand journey the last few years: focus on lengthening your body. This will keep you straight and "stacked" making it more of a balance thing than a shoulder strength thing. It may take shoulder mobility work to make this easier. Practice the posterior pelvic tilt position. Point your toes to the sky. Spread your fingers out and attempt to claw the ground. Minute and active changes in clawing is what will balance you. And handstand 10 times every single day. You will learn it, perfect it, and damn near never forget it.

Great video I could never do hand stands on the ground but on a skateboard as long as I wanted being able to use the boards ability to turn for balance made the difference I think you'll find it very easy, would love to see you do it.

As a former pole vaulter, it's easier if your feet are together. Used to do hand walks all the time.

Awesome work John! I was really into body weight fitness and yoga for years and handstands are no joke! I really like doing them facing the wall!

Surprised you didn't go frog prep first, also surprised you didn't do facing the wall as well (that's scary though, kind of claustrophobic). But tbh you didn't need to do those to get the handstand, so that's really good. However, if you ever want planche push to handstand for reps, a good place to start is frog stands.
