We lived in a 5th wheel camper for 2 winters up north (in South Central Alaska) before we started getting a cabin built. between solar power and generators and -25°f Temps it was tough living but now we love our diy little cabin. Take all the time you need and do it right and as you can afford it, you'll be happier with your results.

Thank you for this video, Loui. I enjoy watching your adventures. When I was in Alaska from 1989 to 1990, one of the things I did for income was dive for sea cucumbers. Over the years, I have been diving in many places, including Hawaii and the Florida Keys, but I have never seen anything more amazing than the underwater environments of southeast Alaska. If you are comfortable and confident in the water, I encourage you to get certified in basic sport diving and do some dives on the reefs and in the kelp forests of Alaska. If you do not want to commit to buying gear, you can rent some or all of it. There is a wonderful world just beneath the surface up there. You could get some world-class video footage for your KZbin channel, and harvest some delicious seafood as a bonus.
