Thanks for tagging me, Ted. I kept seeing “booktube tags” appearing all over the place, but had no idea what it meant. I like the concept. I’ll give it a shot and give you a shoutout for kickstarting it. Let’s take a look at my shelves and see what books I’ve been neglecting! - Todd

Hope you'll give it a shot! :) For some reason, I can't get KZbin to notify me when I get tagged. Glad it worked for you!

Some great picks Ted. I loved The Godfather and Jurassic Park.

Thanks for commenting, Brian! I feel like reading The Godfather may get me aspects not found in the movies.

My first video on booktube was reviewing The Godfather. Jurassic Park is one of my favorite books as well.

I actually tagged you when I did this one! haha Sometimes even though I put peoples @'s in them it doesn't notify them for some reason. I am hoping to start Malice by the end of this month but I'm not confident I'll get to it by then. 🤞As you said there just isn't enough time in the day for all we want to read!
@TedReadInstead2 ай бұрын
Haha! Yeah, hard to remember who tags me in what. I need to have a separate notebook! We need to get some people to do a group read of Malice. Maybe start in December. I'm just not sure how to reach people. KZbin used to have a messaging system.
@SeaninsShelf2 ай бұрын
@TedReadInstead Yeah that'd be a fun idea. You could always make a discord server and invite people to join there where you could announce the read-along

Ted!!!! Thanks for tagging me-I’m also terrible at playing Tag 😂😂😂 in regards to “getting around to” tags are one of those things I definitely need to. At some point, I shall. Either way-I’m grateful you brought me up at all!

I need to read more Steinbeck also, I love what I have read, so need to keep going. He is a marvel. I have done my own quirky take on this tag, but thanks for thinking of me. And thanks for another fun video.

Thanks, Phillip! Growing up in California, Steinbeck was something of a local literary hero. :) Visiting Cannery Row is quite special.

Of Mice and Men was one of the first books I read besides Clive Cussler, the other book being The Good Earth by Pearl S Buck. I recall liking Of Mice and Men a lot, but DNF'd Grapes of Wrath after like four pages when I tried reading it a year or so ago. Full of purple prose, useless description. I think of the first two chapters, I would've kept only one sentence. Cut the rest as unnecessary. So quit Grapes as overrated, wordy garbage. 🙃 Around eight years ago my dad and I drove through Salinas and Monterey Bay, and stopped at the Steinbeck house and museum and walked I guess Cannery Row. Still, I liked Of Mice and Men and it helped get me into reading and writing.

I'm fine with you saying "hankering" after a mere seven years in Texas if you're fine with me declaring myself "dead chuffed" despite never having spent even a minute in England. Hey, if I stick to my native dialect, I'll have to start talking about how "this toad strangler (sudden downpour) 'll be good fer the 'maters." 😉 The Godfather is okay, but it's one of those cases where I actually prefer the movie. Jurassic Park is a lot of fun and quite different from the movie, but a personal sticking point for me is some of the "science" that Crichton got factually incorrect (not just a matter of speculation about future possibilities). I try not to be that guy, but some of the material happened to touch on areas where I'm pretty knowledgeable, so it grated a bit. 😊 Enjoyed your answers. Have a good one!
@TedReadInstead2 ай бұрын
Oh, I completely understand. I think authors have a responsibility to get as accurate as possible, knowing that some of their readers may be more knowledgable than they are! ;)

Hello, Chief! I too would like an LED sign, but 'Book-Rambling About Books And Talking Waffle, and Rambling Around Various Places With A Camcorder' seems a tad too long. Lol. Purple is a good light to have.... . 'The Godfather' is a brutal book - especially how it portrays Hollywood! Thanks!
