Seconded! At this point with my hair I'm especially interested in brushes that minimize tugging and breakage. I have a WET brush and it's better than my old brushes, I'm curious if a Tangle Teezer is better? [Hair status - extreme shedding and hair loss due to health issues earlier in the year. The loss seems to be slowing, but I'm left with very thin hair until it grows back out, assuming it ever does. It's in very good condition, there just isn't much left.]

I have the Tangle Teezer hair brush. I've never used it on wet hair. But there is another KZbinr I follow and she has a brand and a hair brush is one of the products she came out with. I have it and use it on wet hair it's really gentle on my hair. Hope this helps.

I would absolutely love a sunscreen+makeup review! And again, I love how curious and open-minded you are because I think that’s especially difficult as an influencer. Nobody likes to be attacked online. And nobody wants to recommend products that people won’t buy and will stop watching their content over. But for those of us who are not so hype- and trend-driven, but just look for logic, science, and results, it’s a rough road. YT (and, Heaven forbid, TikTok) and saturated with hype and trends. I had to figure out for myself this haircare stuff you’re talking about (around 3-4 yrs ago, actually). It’s so nice that you are finding a way to keep your content driven by truth and science!!!! I hope you can continue down that path, and I hope the general public can collectively become a little less dramatic, quick-to-judge, and hype-driven.

I absolutely love the Neutrogena Lip Sleeping Mask. It was a family favorite this Christmas. I guess I have no taste lol because I've never noticed anything weird tasting with it. And since I can't use anything with added fragrance or flavorings, maybe if you're like me, you might try this product. It's such a perfect lip balm. Very hydrating, very shiny, very long-lasting, very cushy. No shade to Abbey! She's the best!

The naturium phyto lip balm makes the back of my throat feel weird but the Neutrogena night time one doesn't. But my HG overnight is the Pacifica lavender moon overnight lip mask. That stuff has been healing my split lips. Love ya Abbey!!

My long-time fav sunscreen is Elta MD. I have the regular one and the tinted one. I use the regular one as an all over face sunscreen but it also feels like a hydrating moisturizer. I put a drop of the tinted version into my palm and add a drop of Versed Illuminating Glow Drops, a drop of Keys Soulcare Let Me Glow serum, and a small amount of my fav Armani foundation. I mix them all together and dot the mixture on my face and neck. Then, with a barely damp beauty blender, I dab the products into my skin. It is a bit glowy and dewy but it looks like lit from within perfect skin once I use a bit of loose powder applied with a fluffy brush. This is especially good for us 45+ ppl who feel that full foundation creases and settles into fine lines. This method is so much better on my skin than layering each product. Underneath, all I wear is my plain Elta MD sunscreen and a bit of moisturizer if I’m really dry.

Happy New Year, Abbey. I stopped using Babe Lash for the same reason you stopped using Rapid Lash. I replaced it with RevivLash serum based on KZbinr “Claudia Glows” who was also concerned about prostaglandin side effects. I’ve been using the RevivLash & Brow serum since October and my blonde lashes are longer and a little darker than when I don’t use a growth stimulator. If the one you are currently using doesn’t work, I would suggest giving RevivLash a try. 🤩

A lip product that I’ve started using this year and will always have on me is the aquaphor lip repair. It makes your lips look super pretty but it repairs chapped lips overnight it’s amazing! And I have used Babe Lash for a few years and it’s the best eye serum!

I used a lash serum years ago with prostglandin and it indeed changed my eye color. I was so upset! Had no idea this was an irreversible side effect. I personally love Beija Flor but my daughter thinks it smells like paint. It is super thick and i agree. The new one is the exact same but the scent is soooo good! It may be my favorite release so far! And layered with D&G Devotion makes it that much better!

Hey Abbey!! You were the reason I even tried the versed the fix emergency eye mask and i too fell in love. It was my HG eye product and I purchased it repeatedly until it was dc'd. I was so salty, and I emailed the company asking if it was going to be restocked - their response was that they dc'd it to make room for new products ... Not the answer I wanted, but what I found interesting is how no new products soon followed. Like you said, they seem to be just dying off. I'm super upset about the eye mask tho, and I've yet to find anything that worked quite like it. If you know of anything that even comes close, please share!! I tried doing an inkey search and found a few products with similar ingredients decks, purchased them, only to be disappointed when they just didn't work the same. I recently purchased Virtue Recovery shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioner. I know it’s pricey but it doesn’t take much product and my hair hasn’t been in this great condition since I was a toddler. I am dry so I only wash once per week. So worth it to see my hair look so healthy and shiny.

Right now, my go to primers to combine with spf are elf's power grip with niacinamide or essences glow serum primers when I'm feeling more dry. Both work great over spf and under makeup without pilling but I'd be interested in your thoughts on other combos!

Girl! You have got to try some updated sunscreens. They’re EVEN BETTER than the holy grails you listed which are/were also holy grails for me. For years. But the Korean sunscreen industry is constantly innovating and I love it! Numbuzin has a sunscreen in a blue/greenish tube I cannot think of the name but it is basically a fragrance/essential oil free version of Tocobo. Also the p. Calm water barrier spf. It’s like something my skin has never felt. Perfect for darker skin tones as well because once it touches the skin it just disappears. It has no white color like the skin 1004 which is limiting for darker skin tones. The texture dries down insanely fast and is the perfect makeup primer.

The first one is gel. The famous one is essence. Kose suncut waterproof essence is GOD TIER. I don't think I've tried a better waterproof sunscreen. Try that. It's the same gold color but in a tube instead of a bottle.

Have you tried the Rephyr Light Hydration Cream? Fragrance free, no essential oils, 5% niacinamide, 2% dimethicine. 2% squalane, 1% meadow foam seed oil (whatever that is) and Hyalocta complex (again, whatever that is). For all skin types. I like it!

Great video, I've found the same problem with the Kose sunscreen gel, for me it makes my makeup look patchy during application already. I think it patches because it uses lots of film forming polymers to give it very water resistant film. But for me I'll still keep buying it because I love it as my body sunscreen, it just dries super fast and the film sets nicely and doesn't transfer to clothes!

I have to agree with you on the drugstore shampoo issue... I recently used a Gliss kur shampoo I had in my stash (I think you call it Schwarzkopf) but never had the courage to open, I bought it because a Belarusian girl I follow used it, she has super long beautiful hair and I decided to use it because of you and I was so surprised 😳 it performs just as good as expensive shampoos and it contains nice ingredients like oils and hydrolized keratin!

I'm happy you mentioned the Kristin Ess product, I've been leaving a ton of reviews everywhere for it (which I never do). I did my typical wash day routine yesterday (and the night before for oil), so Strength Cure, Wonder Water, Strength Cure Cond., then applied that spray afterwards. When I tell y'all that it DESTROYED my hair... my gosh. It was a complete tangled mess, I probably combed/brushed for a solid 30(!) minutes to no avail. (That's already damaging in itself). Ultimately I had to dip my head back in the shower, rinse rinse rinse, recondition, rinse, then just used my typical L'Oreal leave-in. I STILL had tangles. Some were so huge i had to cut them out. I've never had tangled hair in my life. It was a NIGHTMARE 😅🤣

A lot of eye doctors think retinoids may also cause chronic dry eye (meibomian gland dysfunction) and recommend against using them near your eyes. I've never heard a dermatologist say not to use them (if they're weak/formulated for eyes) around your eyes though. But I've decided to not use them around my eyes.

The gentle shampoos 🤮 and the beija cream from sdj are in my graveyard too. Sol de Janeiro is aesthetic and that's pretty much it. It's anyway not meant for people with sensitive, reactivate or problematic skin. In 2024, I'll try to look for products that respect the skin barrier health and keep the acid mantle healthy.

I have the exact feeling about the SDJ Beija Flor cream! It just doesn't absorb well at all and sits on the surface. I only bought it once and used up the whole tub, but never appreciated any boost in elasticity, either. It could be that it takes longer than a few months to have an effect, but I feel it's better to just use a more affordable retinol body lotion. I love the original Bum Bum cream, though, it's very pleasant to use and I notice a slight tightening effect when I use it regularly.

I’m ditching eye liner and heavy mascara for 2024. I have extremely dry eyes due to an autoimmune disease and eye liner and more than a swipe of mascara make my eyes unbearable. I ditched white eyeliner in the water line after trying it based on a video by Kara Brooks around 2012. It always looked harsh on me. A nude eyeliner in the waterline looks so much better to me, but I can’t do it because it impacts my dry eyes. I’m also ditching the outrageous amount of eye shadow palettes I have. Some I’ve had for 10 years and look like I barely used them. The powdered eye shadow never fails to make my eyes even more irritated. Instead, I’ve been using a cream stick for eye shadow applied lightly with a swipe of mascara and well groomed, lightly filled in eyebrows. I put a dark shade of cream eyeshadow stick in the outer corner of my eye and blend to add contrast. Ditching my Barbie pink blush. I have two - one drugstore and one that’s high end. Neither are flattering on me. After all these years and trying new recommendations, I realized that Nars powder blush in Orgasm is what looks best on me. I apply from the cheekbone swiped upward instead of the apples of my cheeks. I look like a clown with a vivid blush on my cheek apples and like a chipmunk with other colors. I’m ditching having several concealers. All I need is one and NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop is working for me. I only apply to any redness around my nose and a tiny amount under the eye area and blended upward. Ditching Elf Halo Glow and CT Flawless Filter. I waited so long to find them in stock and both looked so caked on after a few hours and/or settle into fine lines. I am loving using a good natural colored, creamy lip liner all over my lips followed by a lip oil. Ditching all lipsticks that just dry out my lips. I wear Laneige sleeping lip mask under the lip liner. The big thing to me is having good skin. Finding products that work for me and sticking with them is critical. I love Korean essence mist and serum, followed by a small amount of Korres rose oil, snail mucin, sunscreen, and my fav hydrating moisturizer. At night, same thing, except a night cream with retinol and no sunscreen. I’m very dry so this routine keeps my skin looking hydrated, clear of blemishes, and younger than I am. Lastly, I’m never giving up my Tinkle razors. So cheap from Amazon and I gently remove all traces of peach fuzz while getting some dermaplaning in. Not too rough or you’ll tear/cut your skin. I use a gua sha tool to reduce puffiness and contour my face. I put my rose oil on before I use them so nothing tugs, especially under my eyes.

I LOVE the SDJ scents for the pink line. I got it for Xmas, the perfume is lovely but it doesn’t last on me at all. The first day I thought I smelled it all day but now it goes away so quick and no one else can smell it either 😪

Rapid lash USED to be soo good about 13 yrs ago when I tried it. They used to have bimatoprost in it then got in trouble for having it. But then I used bimatoprost rx and got red & brown spots around my eyes that took 5 yrs to go away

Honestly I love the Alterna anti frizz spray because it is the only oil spray mist that works for my hair. Comparing to the ogx coconut oil and argon oil sprays those weight my hair down so much even if I dont spray a ton. Could you please please find other alternatives to the ogx because that brand just doesnt work with my hair
