I like Marisa a lot. Best newcomer in forever. That said, fuck PLAYING against her at any rank lmao. I say that with endearment. She's absolutely one of those characters designed to destroy and overwhelm you in shorter sets. She kind of falls off on longer ones from my experience. Deadly in tourney formats for sure.

Marisa can take a whole round just like Gief with two touches. Doesn't leave a lot of room to recover from mistakes and adds a lot of pressure when it's Best of 3.

Because in the second-third round, when she has the Super 3 charged, she literally only needs a ONE single opportunity to bring her opponent to -70% HP and at that point,most of the time, it''s checkmate. It's really very stressful, and somehow unfair. it's not so much her fault, but of Drive rush in general which should be nerfed for all characters with higher damage scaling.

Too used to that overseas input lag, litttttlllle different when the lag input is actually low enough to truly connect to the timing of the game. Most players connect to the lag input of online play. Happens in UMVC3 where players have monster combos, but their basic mechanics crumble once the lag input is reasonable. They’ve trained so long in multiplayer lag input that once the real timing of the game can happen online…they get dunked on by players without as strong of combos. Players with really strong mechanics and non-ADHD-“I play the same gameplan most games” strategies are what make these games interesting, not lab rats with conventional play.
