honestly, i dont know what your habits are like, but i havent had any form of social media for over 1 year (what I would call social media like twitter, tiktok, instagram, etc) but i think the worst thing about "using brainrot in moderation" is really just a waste of time doing something that isnt productive. yeah it gives you a ton of dopamine which keeps you in a cycle but ive had a ridiculous amount of time to pursue other interests after quitting social media. it also led to me being healthier in general because i was like, "well, i've quit this might as well quit other things" so maybe its just maturation but i just reject these aspects of society

Yes. I love this. Brainrot tbh will always just be kinda funny. That's it. Not trying to be like super deep or whatever but like yeah there's more to life I like your take that it's maturity to prioritize productivity over ego fueling content and retarded ahh george droyd fent meme. I quit social media for a good while and came back to it recently. I *was* so productive and clear headed and had priorities straight. Super straight. Impressed myself.😳🧼 Had a routine, kept clean room, gym in the mornings b4 work. Then I downloaded it again and all those things were harder to maintain. It's like an addiction for some ppl especially with addictive personality and yeahs :p I really liked your take on this. resonate. I quit social media again and now I see clearer it's weird to explain. Less distraction to put energy into myself

On your video regarding isolation, I also had this experience. It was hard to find people to really connect with. There's a time to put up a front so that you're not vulnerable to aggressive psychopaths, but people have adapted to doing that all the time. They stop being authentically themselves until they lose their authentic selves. Then they treat their authentic selves as "younger them" pretending that they've "grown up" when they're just bitter, unimaginative, hopeless, vissionless, etc.

After lots of isolation, if you get there and you don't lose yourself in the process, you'll understand meaning. Because that's what you have the luxury to try to seek while everyone's busy living superficial lives. When you do that, you also come to appreciate ordinary people, their struggles, imperfections, etc. And you'll enjoy being in their company more, and you're not seeking isolation as much. It's hard to pinpoint meaning, but good people are creating meaning all the time. It's the beauty in the little things. Being present.
@Glommy_04.00a.mАй бұрын
indeed, after chronic isolation you can sense and perceive in details how society operates and those unwritten social rules that piss me off when people in general neglect them but keep doing them anyways through their actions.

Man I have to disagree. When its an option, you're just more likely to engage with it. The environment around us, the internet basically, it doesnt allow us to delve deep into anything. It is destroying depth. It's so hard to make good art now. When all the spaces in your day are filled wiht stimulation it fucks with your brain or spirit or whatever you wanna call it. You will only make truly great art or advance science or philosophy if that thing is the most enjoyable thing in your environment. in your day. You need to obsess over that one thing. Its impossible to become individualised or actualised when you engage in the constant nonsense circulating on social media (including utube). Depth of consciousness is the most valuable thing. Boredom which ferments into a peace with non-action and no stimulation leads to greater cognition. Perpetual engagement with things that stimulate you leads your to... brain rotting

I think it connects us to the outside world, but it also depends on the type. ... The ones that connect you to the collective consciousness but have no useful meaning, can be a waste of time in the long run. ... I have come to prefer philosophy videos, movie analysis, hidden messages and explaining the deep meaning of a game or movie. ... The superficial side of this topic makes you connect to the mainstream and popular as a type of popular culture.

I smoked cigarettes for 35 years. Tried to quit literally dozens of times without success. Tried hypno, vapes, zyn, snuff, books on cbt, allan carr, ect. What got me out was Joel Spitzer on KZbin. He's the DaVinci of quit smoking guys imo.
@DerWutendeMetzgerАй бұрын
I smoked a pack a day (two packs a day on weekends) for 7 years. Then I quit cold turkey. I havent had a cigarette in almost 20 years. I cant stand the smell of them anymore. It makes me sick. I tried to take a drag off a cigarette when I was drunk once and it made me so sick I vomited.
@condatis6175Ай бұрын
@DerWutendeMetzger yeah, cold turkey is the way to go. It means severe withdrawals for a short period, then moderate, then freedom. NRT, on the other hand, is just drawing out the process, keeping you moderate to strong withdrawal for MONTHS. Smh it is so counterproductive to its own ends. As to disgust, idk, it's more I can tell now how potent the stuff is. Underneath the top note of tobacco I can now smell co2benz ammonia and whatever else is in it, and its really not something that should go in your body 20 times a month, never mind per day. I'm glad to be out of that delusion and don't intend going back. Fair play to both of us

Telling you this might fast track you so here it is. What you learn is that for many complex reasons that require exceptional metacognition to understand, people lose sight of meaning and purpose at a deep level. They stop behaving that way partly because people think that atoms and physical laws are all there is. That's not true, and it's not easy to discover why not. And when you understand why, it's not easy to explain to people. So we have this society that doesn't understand meaning, and so have a hard time pinpointing where it is and how to experience it. Make it part of every moment I can try to explain to you very briefly. The deep assumption society makes is that the only thing which exists are things we can measure. We can't measure meaning and purpose with scientific instruments or our own physical senses so we think it doesn't exist. If you believe it doesn't exist, you lose your ability to experience it.

In short, that's your journey if you choose to be isolated. You get the luxury to take a step back and try to understand "what's the meaning of all this? Is there meaning at all?" and when you do find meaning, you finally truly appreciate the little things, and other people too. Meaning is a treasure that you've had all along but you couldn't see it. The ordinary things which are actually full of beauty and are miracles in the grand scheme of things. They shouldn't be taken for granted. I'm not talking just about the odds that it takes to have simple beautiful moments, but all the events that led to the here and now too. But it's even more than that. Something beyond matter, physics, and time, beyond mathematics and beyond abstraction itself

I know you feel lonely, and sometimes your thoughts might overwhelm you, but would you like to hear something that could bring light into your darkness? God loves you just the way you are, and He will never leave you. Even when it feels like everyone else is distant, God is near, ready to carry you through your struggles. Sometimes our problems, like greed or other sins, pull us deeper into the dark, but Jesus came to set us free from that. In Matthew 11:28, He says: 'Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.' He wants to help you find true peace and purpose. You don’t have to fight alone. Try opening your heart to Him, even with a simple prayer like, 'God, help me.' Find hope in His Word, because He never fails. Does this resonate with what you’d like to say?

I mean, brainrot content is called like this because the level of goofiness is unreal, is something that is expected to be funny for how absurd and with 0 sense looks, but it's not, objectively ofc, subjectively speaking, I enjoy it. But, you know it's so simple, I mean we shouldn't analyze some absurd content a lot, it's basically a new tendency for a generation, and not a big one, because it's visited between the youngest adults and teenagers from nowadays. And right here, everything is ought to be free in the name of entertainment. The only thing that concerns me, is that you all american people are the kings of creating modern concepts, at least in the occidental world, and if I'm not right, I don't know who's the winner, but hear me out please, some things like "rizz" "sigma male" "gyat" "skibidi" etc., SHOULD be kept in the internet forever...
