Amazing that Janet Waldo not only plays a teenager at the age of 33 but is also believable ! All these years I thought she was younger ! I think she & Dick Crenna were believable as teens thanks to them using high pitched voices & of course having very young looking faces ! Thanx for uploading this wonderfully entertaining & informative video ! And also did NOT know she was pregnant when appearing in this "I Love Lucy" episode. Good job ! Kudos ! :-)

Waldo was only 7.5 years younger than Lucy. She was the voice of many other cartoon characters, besides daughter Judy, the most notable was Penelope Pitstop.

I used to love that show when I was younger. Especially the car Penelope Pitstop drove. I used to say to myself that one day I would get me a car just like that 😂. Well I'm all grown up and I still don't have a car like that 😊. Now that you have me thinking about it. Do you remember on Happy Days, the character The Fonz, had a girlfriend named Pinky Tuscadera and she reminded me of the cartoon character Penelope Pitstop. By the way, she was pregnant with her son Jonathan during this episode she had a daughter a couple of years later. I had no idea she was the voice of Judy Jetson! Furthermore I didn’t know that was Richard Crenna and when you mentioned Rambo I nearly fell off my chair I was in stitches. Because I do remember his squeaky voice during this episode it was so funny! I kept imagining him in the Rambo movie but with the squeaky teenage voice. You mention that performing on I Love Lucy was a one-take operation. Desi worked it out with the producers to shoot the show with movie film. The deal was that he paid for it, and because of that, he also kept it, thereby securing ownership of the episodes. You may have mentioned this before, but it came to mind. So, it makes sense that they wanted every take to be a good one, because even then, movie film was expensive.

Janet Waldo was 2 years younger than Desi in this episode, playing a teenager at 33 years old, So Many shows and movies had much older people playing teenagers through the years. Bing Crosby gave her her break in show biz. She voiced lots of cartoon characters and always had a "Kid" voice. Janet Waldo lived to 97 years old. she was born just a few miles from my home town, !

My biggest surprise is the timelessness of the characters and the show itself; it's more relevant to us today than many of the more recent programs on television. To underscore this point, it's hard to believe that the young, pretty, vivacious Janet Waldo died four years ago at the age of 96. May Janet Waldo, Richard Crenna, and the cast of "I Love Lucy" rest in peace.
@MsSweetpea19584 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't have thought that Rick. Lucy having problems with miscarriage herself would be cautious for her.
