The second conclusion is true. Even gravitational pressure waves (circular zones with tornado patterns) will not save you from this, unless you are standing exactly on the floor before landing.

I'm hesitant to even give the first death ... we simply don't know what would happen if a quantum tree were to suddenly be observed in the same space your Hearthian ship was. Maybe that result was totally realistic ... I've just never seen a quantum tree or a Hearthian space ship before to know how they would interact.

The second death is pretty normal... with such a sudden acceleration (or deceleration in that case) there's no way you'd survive But the first case happened several times to me too, and I ended up dying for no reason, especially on the quantum moon. This has to be fixed...

The trees and cave features around quantum objects are quantum objects themselves, just only moving around the room they’re in. So, the ship got intersecting by a suddenly existent tree.

second death is easily avoided by holding downward thrusters to (essentially) hug the ground. keeps you from slamming down so no dmg.

On my first launch I somehow made it from Timber Hearth to Hollow's Lantern in what felt like under fifteen seconds, crashed into it, and died in the lava. I still don't know how I managed to even get there that fast.

Late answer but since no one did I might as well : Timber Hearth : "Âtrebois", literally the fusion between the word "âtre" which officially is the stone part of a fireplace, (or the fireplace itself) but is mostly used as a pretty way of saying "home", and "bois" which means wood/forest. Attlerock : "La Rocaille", basically a vulgar word to say rock or something rocky, also used to call a rock garden apparently. The hourglass twins are just called "Sablère Rouge" and "Sablière Noire" which means red and black hourglass, but I think it fits better since the french word for hourglass comes from the word "sable" which means sand. Brittle Hollow : "Cravité", I think it's just the fusion of "Gravité" and "Cavité", which as you probably guessed respectively means "Gravity" and "Cavity", hypothesis : there wasn't much effort put into that name. Its lantern is named the same. Dark Bramble : "Sombronces", fusion between "Sombre" which means dark, and "ronces" which means... well, "brambles". They pretty much needed to make that fusion because "Ronces Sombres" or "Sombres Ronces" would've sounded horrible out loud, no joke. "Léviathe" isn't an actual noun, it just sounds cool. The Interloper : "L'Intrus", literally "The Intruder", but it's also considered the only translation for the word interloper. I admit it loses the joke of it really entering the loop of the solar orbit. Other fun facts about the french translation : Since Heathians are named after rock names, they're also translated in their official french names. For example, Slate is called "Ardoise", Feldspar is called "Feldspath" and Chert is named "Chail". Weirdly enough the angler fishes are called "Cœlacanthes" (Coelacanths) which aren't really related to angler fishes, but they're known to be really ancient and really far up the evolution history so maybe that's why they chose that name instead of "poisson-pêcher" or "baudroie abyssale" for example.

yep, janky physics object deals tremendous kinetic damage. In the first case you should wait until the ship is unstuck first. The second one is typical for every hatchling so don't worry lol. I would recommend in this situation to accelerate downward to stay grounded to the island. Or you could just fall into the sea and resurface.

It's obvious why the ship was bugging out, as it was landed in a spot it usually shouldn't be parked on, and the Devs didn't expect a player to land their ship in this area, so of course various props then spawned inside the ship, causing physics to go haywire.

honestly, i'm surprised quantum clipping seems to happen as much as it does in clips like these, cuz it never once happened to me in my entire playthrough. lil tip tho; pretty much any situation, even glitchy ones like the quantum clipping, have right and wrong ways to survive them that you learn after you play enough, and these two are pretty simple actually. if you don't like where a quantum object is, looking away makes it stop being there, and you can't fall onto a surface if you're already touching it, so sticking to the floor means you won't take fall damage
