Even though Obi-wan was a great jedi he was far to inexperienced to take on a Padawan especially someone who qui-gon jinn sensed so much power in, I believe if mace windu had taken on anakin,anakin would not have switched to the dark side as windu also has the conflict of good and bad within him, he would of been able to relate to anakin and teach him things that are personal to him and not just what any normal Jedi should know

Luke set him free. Set him free from slavery, and set him free from his suffering. All Anakin ever wanted was to save the ones he loved. He was too late to save his mother, and he gave into his anger, failing to save Padmé. But when he had the chance to save Luke, he took it. The Saga is really about Anakin failing, then redeeming himself. He truly brought balance to the Force. After Order 66 was executed, there were 2 Jedi, Obi-Wan and Yoda, and there were 2 Sith, Sidious and Vader. All was balanced. Luke began his training, Obi-Wan died. Luke finished his training, Yoda died. There were still Vader and Sidious for the Sith, but only Luke for the Jedi. When Vader realized he could save Luke from the emperor’s lightning, he returned to Anakin. Killing the emperor, then dying. Leaving only Luke.

I honestly feel even worse for Obi Wan. My fav. Character up until a year or two ago was Anakin now it’s Obi Wan. This is because I liked Anakin at first because he was the chosen one and the most powerful and the main character. But now it’s Obi Wan I don’t know why but I feel a deep connection towards Obi Wan. The things he has to deal with were things that I was going though my past year, all he knew about and loved changed, he always strived to stay in the light even when the world around him was crippling into darkness, he lost his brother..., his friends, and was put into an entirely new life all alone, but still had hope that there is still good in the world and that things would get better. That was how I felt and I immediately felt great respect for him and realized how great and powerful he truly is.

my heart will always hurt over anakins story, and how padmé had died. as well as how their whole relationship ended. it makes me sad he never got to have his happy ending with padmé. my happiest moment was seeing him watching over luke and the other at the end of episode six :/ i was glad he could see his son and daughter happy one more time. but besides that, my heart will always ache for anakin and padmé. forever will i miss them :(
