Congratulations!! She is beautiful!! Mom guilt is so hard, especially right after having a baby. You did what you thought was best for you guys at the time and as long as the doctors say everyone is fine and healthy, that’s all that matters 😊 enjoy all the baby snuggles!

The mom guilt is so real right now and definitely still working through it. But yes as far as I know she’s healthy so just hoping we all continue to grow and stay healthy!

Jess my heart is with you and Chris right now. ♥️ I had a similar birth experience to yours with Alexander - water breaking, no contractions, pitocin & in the end the vacuum… I resonate with everything you mentioned about not feeling strong enough or fit enough to “do it on your own.” Take all the time you need to process it, and just know you are the best mom for Charlie! It takes IMMENSE strength to go through what you did - even tho it’s not how you envisioned it. Sending you some love from Germany!🫶🏻🫶🏻

Same girl. My labor took forever with my first. We had a doula and attempted a natural labor, but around 7/8 cm and with no sleep for almost 2 days, the epidural was a game changer for my sleep and energy level. Our doula helped me with positions, so standing up helped me really fast! She was incredible for teaching us and being so supportive. My second birth was SO much easier! Our bodies are amazing! I’m so happy you and Charlie are healthy and thriving!
@jessssalemme4 ай бұрын
Thank you!! I do wish I’d hired a doula, I think having an advocate (who is an expert) in the room to help advise me would’ve probably helped things progress better BUT we did it and I learned so much from that experience! Women are amazing!

I’ve heard so many rough 1st birth stories (and my first was sooo much rougher than the subsequent 3). Know that you’re not alone! And it is 1000% OK to both be happy and overjoyed that your baby is here and healthy and to also grieve a labor that was not what you expected. ❤ Hang in there!! My oldest is now 8 and she is an amazing human being. Yours will be that way as well 😍 congratulations!

Congratulations!! She’s so cute! When I had my first it was rough and I was definitely traumatized and felt like I was 1 and done until I got pregnant again when my son turned 10 months and the first thought I had was I have to go through giving birth again but the thought of having another little baby to love and care for was so much stronger than the fear. Even now a couple months away from having this baby boy I’m still nervous because postpartum is absolutely no joke but I have not only another chance to prepare but also have the experience to go into it mentally better than I did with my first. You did absolutely an amazing job and there’s nothing like actually going through it that can prepare a first time mom for giving birth. I’m so proud of you stranger on the internet lol your baby is so blessed to have you as her mom!
@jessssalemme4 ай бұрын
Thank you! You’re so sweet. You got this too mama! I agree nothing could’ve prepared me for labor like going through it. After that delivery I was like “nope 1 one good” but as I’ve processed and gotten past some of the hard parts of post partum I’m already back to wanting multiple haha. Thank you for watching and the support! Good luck with your delivery! ❤️

You’re amazing! I can empathize with this! Since I was induced, I did the balloon and all the medication too! It took me 32 hours to get to the point where I could push and took 4.5 hours to get him out because Maddox was head down but facing up so he got stuck. They mentioned the vacuum and all that could come with it and I remember bawling feeling so scared. I didn’t have to use it, but I am sorry you did since I know how scary just the mention of it was. Thank you for sharing! It was nice to hear a story that is similar to mine 🫶🏻 Congratulations again!

It’s so helpful to know others have had as hard of an experience as me. 4.5 hours is just insane, women are superhero’s! I’m so glad you have a healthy baby here as well! ❤️

Bless you and the baby. I had my daughter 27 years ago.... it was going to be a beautiful experience.... ha ha ha. I was induced the day after I checked in and about a day and a half later.... 2 hours of pushing and then the C section. I was fine with it because I tried. In the end, she was healthy so I was happy. Best of luck to you.

Absolutely! at the end of the day we’re all healthy and here and I’m just grateful for that. I learned so much with this labor as well and for future kids hopefully things will go better. Thank you!

Congratulations to you and your Husband! Welcome to Mommyhood! She is absolutely precious and I'm happy to hear you are both healthy through this long labor and delivery where it had some scary moments 🫶🏽 When you are up to it and if you get enough ?s here are some that I had in mind (ofc, please share as much or little as you are comfortable with): 1. How is your day to day is going? 2. Based on your birthing experience, would you have more children in the near future? Later in life? Haven't decided? Enjoying being a mom for now? 3. Will you make your own pureed food when she transitions out of formula / br**st milk (not sure if YT allows us to say it, I used a code instead)? 4. For the moms to be, do you find that you overpacked your hospital bag? Had everything you needed? Or, fill in the blank: I should have had _______. 5. Now that you have your own experience to speak on, what would you say to someone that's expecting? 6. So far, have any advice you received help you, can't relate or too soon to say? The advice could be anything. 7. How are you feeling as a first-time Mom? I know I have so many ?s but I'm always intrigued by the experience of others Congrats again! Enjoy this new life to the fullest! 🫶🏽🤍👶🏻🩷

These are great questions!! I think a Q&A could be fun, I’ll post something on Instagram as well and see what all I get. My life revolves around this tiny human now so my videos will likely reflect that shift as well

Hi Jess 🙂 Congratulations 👶 to you and Chris. Errr, I thought the stork brought the baby to the doorstep 🤔. Seriously, you certainly went through quite the adventure in June. So your little one will be six months on Christmas Day. Surely, this is your BEST video, so far.

Sending you lots of love! I had a similar-ish labor of being in the hospital for 3 days and I pushed for 3 hours but at that point my sons heart rate wasn't doing well and my vitals started to go out of whack so they gave me the option of forceps but they would have to break his shoulder to get him out or emergency C-section. I chose the C-section which I found terrifying too. I also had a fever after birth and NICU had to take over because my son struggled to breathe so I also didn't get to see him right away or have my skin to skin moment which was really upsetting to me. Sharing this to say I felt those same feelings of defeat and like I wasn't good enough or strong enough but it takes incredible strength for your labor/hospital stay to go on that long, to push that long, to go days without food and sleep AND go through the most physically demanding things our bodies can go through. You are incredibly strong, her needing assistance to come out isn't a sign of lack of strength. ❤❤❤ Best wishes for the rest of your recovery and I hope you are able to get some rest, those newborn days are incredible and hard/exhausting. ❤

Thank you for sharing you story! It’s unfortunate how many of us go through difficult labors, I personally didn’t want to talk about it for fear of scaring people but I also find it helpful to know others have been through similar things as me. Thank you for helping me remember that! 🫶🏼

Thank you for talking about the horrible end of having a first born baby. I had a nightmare birth and it was without any pain medication which made it all that much more traumatic. Like you, I heard of amazing births that were seemingly magical and had high hopes for something similar. The trauma of having my child still haunts me 28 years later. I wish I knew more and advocated better for my well being but shoulda, coulda. I had postpartum depression for 12 months and it was a very dark period in my life. Yes, time moves forward and life goes on but talking about this is something that is important to me. Congrats on baby being here with a minute to spare.
