This government are punishing pensioners because they are generally Tory voters. This is spite, pure and simple. The generation who reach retirement this year were the ones who benefitted from Margaret Thatcher's reforms, and were the first generation of working class people who got onto the housing ladder in numbers through council house sales, and he has an unnatural hatred for her and that policy which boosted social mobility. Recent pensioners get the New State Pension of £220 per week....that is £2 per week too much to claim Pension Credit. YES, that's right...£2. The support for Ukraine is vital. It is much better to send them money and weapons and not have to send our grandchildren. Tax the rich, end government waste, reform the NHS (just throwing money at it hasn't solved anything). LEAVE the people who have worked for 35+ years (the minimum for State Pension, many work far longer) alone and let them enjoy their retirement, they earned it.
