@SirManselus2 ай бұрын
Focus on long term investments in property, stocks, and bonds. Avoid copying, daytrading and 'chart astrology'. Diversify across different geographies, industries, and value chain stages - to reduce your risk. You can do this with ETFs, or by selecting different stocks yourself. This is the best way to invest for more than 90% of people

I strongly recommend reading a book on Value Investing. Maybe you don't agree with the Graham & Dodd approach, maybe you think breaking Warren Buffet's rules is a good idea you could be right! but you have to study the rules to break them, and value investing has proven to be one of the single most successful long-term (LONG. TERM. AHEM 😂) strategies if you want to learn from others, learn from the best. Howard Marks has a great podcast called The Memo, it's basically him reading his quarterly memos out. HIGHLY valuable for a retail investor

I hold both of them too. All my holdings include Nvidia, Apple, TSM, Tesla, and Palantir. TSM is building a giant plant in Arizona as part of the US Chips Act. Not sure when it’ll be completed. I may lean a little heavier in TSM soon. How can they not continue to grow and earn??? Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) manufactures semiconductors for a wide range of customers, including: - Tech giants: Apple, AMD, Broadcom, Marvell, MediaTek, Nvidia, and Qualcomm - Emerging companies: Allwinner Technology, HiSilicon, Spectra7, and UNISOC - Programmable logic device companies: Xilinx and Altera - Integrated device manufacturers: Intel, NXP, STMicroelectronics, and Texas Instruments - Automotive manufacturers: TSMC's N7A customers have qualified products for automotive applications that have been used in volume production since 2023. TSMC is the world's largest semiconductor company and the first dedicated semiconductor foundry, established in 1987 by MIT and Stanford graduate Morris Chang. The company manufactures around 90% of the world's advanced chips, which are used in a variety of applications, including smartphones, artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, and fighter jets.

Hock Tan has been in directing and executive roles in the tech industry over 40 years and has created immense shareholder value as CEO of Broadcom. You absolutely cannot argue with their business track record and sheer dominance and a lot of that has to do with management. They’ve also done it in a low profile way which is even better. Awesome video. Its ironic no one cares about Cisco wrt to AI story anymore and it was pretty much Cisco that made BRCM (now AVGO) what it is today. They almost wanted to buy VMWare but decided not to. Later BRCM not only designed customer routing chips for CSCO and the likes but started making full solution Datacenter switches with its own network stack (acquired) and selling them as a reference model to major cloud companies and enterprises. And Hock Tan had the foresight to acquire VMware. The next cycle in the AI Age is Google, Meta etc with ASIC chips. Are we not entertained ?

I think you are allowing Broadcom's stock price and revenue improvement to cloud your judgement. The CEO of broadcom (Hak Tan) has one goal, and it's to make money regardless of the means. His primary strategy is to work with his cronies at private equity company silver lake on hostile acquisitions. Then he dumps all the headcount he can. Fortunately, he was rejected in taking over Qualcomm. He lacks any innovative vision. In fact he said a few years ago that innovation in chips was over and that chips were commodities. As a result, their company culture is one that doesn't know how to innovate. They're just riding the AI wave as best they can, doing commodity level design and jacking up their prices. It sucks seeing Hak Tan benefit from the AI movement when he's done nothing meaningful to contribute. Completely different personality than Jensen.
