I just left a long comment on your previous video on the topic of fragrance addiction. I did leave out one thing though. I realized that I have had several areas of addiction, and I realized what I was doing and WHY. I was using purchasing THINGS because I was in a very unhappy marriage. First it was art supplies. I had so many art supplies that my family never went to the art store for projects because they knew I had everything imaginable. I have since decluttered 3/4 of that addiction, due to moving and no longer having the room to store it all. The next addiction was designer leather notebooks. I stopped that one too. For a year, my newest addiction has been fragrances. I realized I was becoming addicted and stopped myself. The thing is, all, of these things brought temporary joy, but only for a few moments. When you have acquired so much that you no longer remember that you already bought something, and actually purchase it again, you realize you have too much. Or, in the case of fragrances, you will never use all of it. I am 70 years old, and of course won’t live long enough to wear all of the fragrances I have, and also, that my daughters and granddaughters won’t want or wear most of them, so they will end up in an estate sale, no doubt. What I want to tell YOU, is that if other people form an addiction, it is not YOUR fault. They are just trying to fill some void in their own lives, and if it isn’t one thing, it will be another. You see, I believe in PERSONAL responsibility. I have learned, and have seen many others come to the same conclusion, that it is their problem and their responsibility, if they let things get out of control in their own lives. It wasn’t you, or other fragrance influencers that MADE me buy out of control and out of my budget. That is SOLELY on me! So, do not feel guilty for any of it. Many of us are figuring it out, and are learning an important life lesson. We are learning that you can’t buy happiness, and that it is up to us to have self control.Bless you for your integrity and common sense❤

Dear Michelle ❤ wisihing you another 50 years in good health!!! so you can enjoy your collection of fragrances for enough time you get bored with them ☺️. BTW - honestly, I wish I would have a mother of grandma with such a wonderful passion and great collection of fragrances! Warmest regards, Jo

Thank you so much for your honesty and sharing your experiences ❤️ I'm so happy to hear you have discovered the reasons behind it all and were able to make important changes to your life, i'm sure it was not easy! Thank you also for your kindness and taking some of the weight off my own shoulders 🤗 I will try to make balanced content and hopefully people will get something positive out of it in the best case. Btw: You are only as old as you feel, wishing you many more happy decades 😌🌻

I'm also sick of it. I'm also mad annoyed at myself... trip to the malls spending hours and hours sniffing, buying on impulse, online shopping... reading about frags, watching yt channels, hiding bottles from my hubby... decluttering every now and then arrggh...

I love your content. You are real and honest. I actually stopped watching other fragrance reviewers because it's all PR and they review nothing but super expensive fragrances, and when I caved in and purchased their recommendations, I actually ended up not liking most of the fragrances. We need more fragrance reviewers like yourself.

I would like to watch every video that you make, because you are so sweet and interesting person.😊 I don't like that everyone in perfume community talks about niche fragrances. We are ordinary people who just want to smell good and want some NORMAL recommendations and opinions.❤

I absolutely get this 💯 my channel doesn’t just Focus on perfume but because of that I’m not growing !! I actually love when people have a broader content and will continue to just put out what I feel at that moment Hugs Frances ❤

Yes!! So true! It used to be different back in the day, when people would just sit down and chat about a variety of topics. Today it’s much more difficult. But not impossible! I certainly enjoy these kind of channels ☺️ hugs to you too 💖

Your recent life experience reminded me of a very difficult phase I experienced years ago, and for me it was the same thing, I stopped purchasing things I liked, and then when things took a right turn again I just started buying stuff again! It is so uplifting listening to someone who shares her real life and who doesn't want to lie or say things she wouldn't say just to get more views!

Thank you!! 😊 Yes I’m fairly minimalist in general, too! Also don’t want to go crazy with fragrances, luckily there’s decants and samples ✨

I'm a new subscriber. I respect your journey. The nice thing about Ytube channels is that anything goes. You could disappear for 3 years and come back. There is a high likelihood subscribers would say - ""Hey, nice to see you!" For me the best fragrance channels are the ones that keep it real. They don't necessarily have a big selection of perfumes. I discovered one channel where the KZbinr just had 5 fragrances for life that she stuck to. The rest of her channel is about doing errands, art, music, life. Seeing these shelves of hundreds of bottles gives me anxiety. Listening to 20 minute plus hypes of fragrances gives me headache. Explore your relationship with the fragrances you do have. Tell interesting stories featuring a perfume you have. Personally, I am fascinated by the psychology, aromatherapy and business aspects of fragrances. Just be you. Do what works for you. Channels evolve all the time.

You are really honest and genuine, we need more people like you in this community. But I understand your point about spending very well. Try and instead focus on something else that doesn’t require spending much or any money. 😊👍 Good luck with your future, whatever or wherever it is!💜

I think you are talking about L'occitane Terre de lumiere. It is currently discontinued, but the brand should re-release it this spring '24 :)

I always enjoyed hearing from you etc.well people are grown ups if they can't think for themselves regarding frangrance! That's bad,I say quality over quantity!and you have alot if quality! I think alot of people like you including myself!yes no problem with diversity with your channel! Your one beautiful women inside and out! Also i prefer to watch someone who has your approach than people with 200+ bottles who keep buying more and more . It s a nonsense for me, you won t even have enough time in your life to finish them all. Why not just get decants? That way you can try new things on rotation.

Look into your mind and into your heart then follow your passion. Its important to stay authenticate and objective. A passion is a reason to get up / make content. I support a new direction if that's your wish. It will be alright

My take on this topic is that it is your "Profession". As your Subscribers, we expect that you will have a vast experience with fragrances that reaches beyond what we might collect. This fact alone warrants you to collect a large library of fragrances. Justin Copeland visits this topic regularly and is cautious about all of the negative pitfalls of over-purchasing. I would say for you that you could separate your collection by keeping the ones you deem as must haves, even physically separated froom your main collection. This helps with setting a boundary perhaps. Hope this opinion makes sense. I think you do a great job on your channel and I enjoy the content!

Decants could be a sensible approach. More than likely you have sizeable fb communities for buy/sell/trade decants, if you're comfortable with that sort of thing. A lot of the members would also find and sub to Your channel. As an analogy, there are guys with a floor full of expensive gym equipment, yet they themselves may look like a 50's fridge on a bar stool. Then you have the guys with a pair of jogging shoes, a jumping rope, kettle bell, chin-up bar, and a life. If there's a niche to be carved out for a decant girl with a life, it should be all yours

Why do you feel the need to grow your collection exponentially in order to have a YT channel? We're happy to listen to you talk about the fragrances you already own and love, or about samples even. In the whole scheme of things, material possessions are indeed irrelevant. Hopefully you can be introspective about why you aren't in the same mental space now as you were before, when you were "happier", for lack of a better word. Everything is a choice. I hope you make the best ones for yourself.
@RosesRosyLife9 ай бұрын
You’re right, I will get more samples & decants and only buy what I really want :) I am actually feeling a little bit more optimistic after making this video, let’s see where this goes ✨thank you!

@@RosesRosyLifeYou shouldn't feel bad about getting rid of bottles you don't want anymore either. Try to avoid comparing your channel to other content creators who do things differently than you, or who have more subscribers. It doesn't mean that they're better, quite the opposite sometimes. Don't feel pressured to do anything. Do what you enjoy doing. If you decide to continue making videos, make them how you want about what you want. And try to have the right people around you supporting you.

I´ve actually finding myself trusting and enjoying less and less on the content of several youtubers I used to like, just because you can actually perceive as a viewer that they have being sucked into this vortex of showing new fragances and accepting to present brands that they don´t seem to be really like.... maybe they feel that they have to do that because there is for a fact no pocket that can hold the amount of money they would have to invest in order to get those fragances, but they "have to" come up with fresh content. Bottom line... I applaud your authenticity,
@Pazuzu889 ай бұрын
I really like how genuine and upfront you are, while still remaining polite. I’ve been dealing with some grief myself and while I’m starting to feel better, I have compulsive buying problems, so when I started getting into the fragrance game I acquired a bunch of fragrances in a short amount of time 🤦🏻♂️ I think I was looking for that dopamine hit but also very curious about some of these scents tbh. But yes, way too many more than I’ll ever need. I guess at least I discovered some scent profiles that I really really like 😅 but also got influenced by all the reviews so seeing you post these type of videos it’s like a breath of fresh air. Thank you. And I hope you have a great day and feel better soon 🫶🏼 *edit. So I totally support your idea about expanding the topics on your channel to include mental health issues, and so on 🙌🏼 Mental health is wealth ❣️
