Lorelai comes to Luke to ask for $30, 000 because she is running out of money for the Inn. Then, she falls apart in his arm's repeating that she's failing.

I noticed that right away. He kind of slides his arm in so he’s ready for the transition to hug, and he goes from slightly stroking to full on cradling her in his arms, and you could tell his heart broke for her as she cried and that he’d hold her as long as she needed. And he knew just by looking at her that something was wrong. One of my favorite scenes ever. ♥️

This scene along with the scene of her and Luke in Rory's bedroom when she calls herself a bad mother are heartbreaking. She is so strong and it kills you that she thinks for even a second about herself this way. Lorelei is the person Rory wanted to be but wasn't: self-sufficient, smart, hard working, and determined to support herself.

Instead of trying to interject or help right away he listened. He listened to her talk and made sure she knew she would be okay and everything would be okay. And he knew something was wrong right away. he comforted her.

the point of this scene is that lorelai ALWAYS gets up when she falls down. since she gave birth to rory at 16, her entire life has consisted of only powering through. she was exhausted and it was great that she gave herself a second to be exhausted

I watched this scence so many times and I can't stop. I love it so much. Lauren is a great actress and always can get into carecter and really think of what is happening to the character and think of it and make it happend. This also goes to show that luke is the right guy and definitely not Christopher. Luke is always a great guy to loralie and always help her through everything. He helped her with this and ended up giving her 30000 dollars for the in. He is a amazing person and you can tell he really really likes her even from the start. They help each other and go through ups and downs together no matter what it is big or small. This also goes to show Christopher wouldn't show up for a family emergency when they broke up and when loralie and luke broke up luke came straight to loralie house bc she asked for her friend to comfert her and need someone to talk to and get her through tough times. He came right away as Christopher couldn't even come when her father was having a heart attack. Not to mention luke dropped everything to come and be there when they were still a bit awkward around each other and with no hesitation at all (he even brought food). Exactly why I am team luke all the way(sorry this got like Ezra super off track)
