Seemed that way to me. All of Darrell Brooks' witnesses made him look bad, didn't say anything that damaged the prosecution's case, and only said things that were bad for Brooks' case (if he could even be said to have a case). Like that Nicholas Kirby fellow. He spoke at length about how he tried to keep Erika Patterson away from him, and how much he wanted to beat Brooks up, while putting himself at the scene 20 minutes in advance of the crime. All of that's bad for Brooks and just sprinkles some extra icing on top of the state's case. Why do they need to follow up on that?

You know when a jury sits through a particularly traumatic trial and they're excused from doing jury service ever again? I think this Judge should be excused from presiding over the trial of another narcissistic, mass murderer who represents themselves ever again (but not before she's given a medal and a massive bonus!)

I’m really sick of people who have absolutely no ability to grasp why the judge would be as lenient and put up with as much as she has. It’s almost as if the notion of an approved appeal, or mistrial, is completely foreign to them. It’s not a difficult concept.

The problem is they are opening the door to allow every criminal to do the same thing when they go on trial. They need to set an example that this type of behavior has no place in the American criminal justice system. Indulging this fool is giving permission to every other fool to do the same

I think it’s easy to understand the concept of a mistrial or approved appeal. However, the length this man has went is absurd. You can not openly interrupt the judge and other attorneys. On top of that, 90% of the words this man spoke of are completely irrelevant to the trial process. I just find it hard to believe it’s simply out of fear of a mistrial. However, I am no lawyer so take this with a grain of salt! Just dumbfounded nothing was done until he literally threw a temper tantrum and she called for a break.

I've seem too much of this too and there's only so many times you can explain it to people. The founding documents that give you all the rights you enjoy in a constitutional republic include the right to self representation in a court of law, and just because you get an extreme person now and then doesn't mean that you should change them. Judge Dorow has had to balance the rights of the defendant with the rights to self representation, which make Brooks much more visible, but in doing so It has actually been a gift to the Prosecution. The more you see of him, the more you see his true colours. As I write, the jury found him guilty and didn't deliberate for long at all. I hope that once they have put some distance between themselves and the trial that they will watch what happened during all of the times they were herded out of the courtroom, and see the full extent of his abusive behaviour.
