Andrew, I'm a 50yr old cattle farmer from Namibia and have been going on yearly overland trips around the SADC countries with the family for 20yrs. I remember just before going on our first "rough" trip to the Delta in Botswana in the middle of the rainy season, I was given your book "The comlete guide to four wheel drive" as a present by a good mate. This was 18 yrs ago and as impressed as I was by the book back then, as impressed am I now with your youtube channel after only recently (3 weeks ago) discovering it. I love your content, honesty and no BS approach, but most of all I love the way in which it is presnted. Old school, dry and with respect towards the viewer. You are a scholar and a gentleman. Looking forward to dicovering your previous content and going on many more trips, builds and reviews with you. Keep doing what your doing, in the way your doing it.

I found your channel over the pandemic and was so inspired to tour the remote places of North America, in July of 23 I purchased my first 4wd - a 2006 100 series land cruiser. I’ve started modifying it which will take a few years due to budget constraints, and then I’m off to explore.

Andrew, it's your passion that I enjoy... everybody gets something from your tales, and we value it as we all come back... I am of an age where I don't want to climb up insane rocky MOAB slopes, making my truck fall to bits. What I enjoy is your organising of a truck to make it simple for old blokes - people like me. I purchased a Bluette 1.8 as it was quiet; John Cadogan liked them; I tried one, and it ran my pod coffee machine. It's quick for an old bloke and basically less mess... Simplicity, and you tell it straight. I had pondered another Toyota 2XX or whatever model was coming and eventually collected a Grenadier. I am very happy and might consider the 2.8 Bus when yours appears. I want you to know that your depth of effort is worthy and appreciated.

I enjoy the content and learn a lot, and with the type you share, it's a balance for us to watch. I like having the option to watch builds and the option to get to know you more and discover new places. If you dont apply the strategy required for KZbin, be it click bait or catchy thumbnails. Im just watching a video of yours from 2005 about the Alucab conversions. Hearing you list the dated design of the defender in that video as a deal breaker was hilarious. You said it with such conviction and the perfect straight face while ignoring the mildly updated 40 series interior (that in 2024 is still the interior!) of the 70 series in the same video.

I have a Troopy in Aus and a 76 in NZ. There is almost nowhere in Aus and NZ that I haven’t been and a lot of places most people will never get too. I watch Ronny Dahl for the places he goes. I reckon a lot of us audience are somewhat to even very experienced within this subject matter and we're on the whole not stupid, we know the click bait scenario and get it, I for one don't care, there's still good and valid content within to learn and discover being entertained along the way, I enjoy your bluntness, I recall you giving the Pajero a big serve and I own one, it has been one of the best vehicles I've ever owned and I do agree with you on some points but just because your viewpoint is different to mine it doesn't stop me watching your content to gain perspective from someone who is vastly experienced differently to my experience, keep up the good work and keep telling it how you see it 😊

But no such heart transplant experiments were dared with the Troopie or the Pickup up till now. Even some of the 40 series engines such as B & H series which made it into the 70 series engine bays are still ticking.
