I live at home in the 'burbs, too, so I can understand getting out of the house for a new change in space but also not wanting to spend so much money on coffee. Hope you have a safe move soon :) I can't wait to see this book land an agent!!

I agree with you on naps. They are actually the worst thing that the animal kingdom ever developed. --I'm not overdramatic. You're overdramatic-- They take up so much time (which is all the more precious the older you get), I never feel fully refreshed from them, and also the fact that they can throw off your sleep schedule is just annoying. Personally, I like both your vlogs and your craft videos. I find your vlogs very relatable on so many fronts (and I've mentioned before how much I appreciate them from an "archivists" perspective), and I enjoy your craft videos because you always have so many interesting insights to give. There's always at least one thing from each of your videos that just sticks with me in some way. [Also, a little funny anecdote on the subject of character consistency and the difficulties that come with that. I once wrote was _supposed_ to turn into a full novel in early university (it was a self-insert remake of another self-insert novel that I tried writing in early high school). The character was literally me and did everything that I would do in those circumstances. Feedback that I got from one of my friends: "Your MC feels too inconsistent. I think that you need to change some things." Go figure. 💀💀💀]

I LOVE these writing vlogs! 😻 I’m sorry it took me so long to comment. I was working on revising my PhD dissertation novel (also an Adult fantasy) after a 7 month hiatus from it and managed to finish my 4th draft. I think it needs one more draft before it’s ready to query (plus I need to add about 8-13K because these revisions put this draft at 67K, oops!). It’s so interesting to see your progress and what your novel needs. You sound like you’re making really good progress! I’m super intrigued by the new comps you will be using. I have A STUDY IN DROWNING, but I haven’t read it yet! I need to polish my query and work on my synopsis as well to get ready to query! My comps for my novel are Hulu’s ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING and Sarah Gailey’s MAGIC FOR LIARS. 🥰 Monty is so adorable! Thank you for the footage of Ventura Beach. I don’t think I’ve been there. I live closer to Laguna Beach and Dana Point Harbor. Love visiting the water! 😍

thank you Lara!! omg CONGRATS on finishing your fourth draft, I hate it when the word count mysteriously undergoes a drastic change during a revision and you're left being like ??? progress has definitely stalled as of late, but I'm hoping to pick up where I left off next week! I ended up liking STUDY slightly less than I expected unfortunately but I'm glad I read it.

Ahh thank you!! I use a cheap color-changingsunset lamp, shine it in my face, and just turn of all the others lights in my room!
