@@loulou9978 Buy a dog. and wish him happiness, then you will be happy. Experts said a long time ago that people with the same interests have long-term relationships, or maybe they should have some stuff in common, which is logical. Sam Vaknin said the best advice about falling in love. Make sure that you didn't fall in love with the feeling of falling in love. You either fall in love with a person, or you fall in love with the feeling of falling in love. It's a big difference. Because just because you like someone doesn't mean he or she is right for you, with their values. He says some people with some narcissistic attitudes fall in love only for the feeling of falling in love, with the honeymoon effect, but when they have to show some respect and fulfill some needs of the other person, give emotional support, they want to break up and they will find another person....So it means they did not fall in love with you they only fall in love with the feeling of falling in love, but without giving some true interest in his needs and your needs. But I wonder maybe the same way they treat themselves. Maybe they don't fulfill their own mental needs so they can not fulfill also the needs of partners. Dr. Joe Dispenza said that people confuse self-love with self-pleasure. Self-love is not about buying expensive stuff or eating cakes every day, but about getting the most important stuff, dignity self-respect, self-love...then the person may give the same to others, give them respect empathy, inspiration etc. You don't need a high level of dopamine from all stuff you buy or from playing videogames... but you need pleasure chemical as serotonin, melatonin, oxytocin.., these chemicals are released in your brain when you feel love empathy, or when you have proper sleep, exercise, etc.

It's hard but focus on what's in front of you and what's in your control. There will always be someone paid more or have a bigger house and car. Happiness comes from appreciating the things that are priceless and irreplaceable like friends and family. Be thankful if you are healthy and able to celebrate any successes. I didn't realize this until I got older and seeing some people I know suffer with illness. There are a lot of rich people who are unhappy - so don't equate these things with happiness.

I don't understand the jealousy. I've driven a beater for the better part of 20 years, that never bothered me. I was more proud to spend practically nothing on a vehicle compared to my friends and family. I have everything now, and then some, without the debt boulder attached.

I feel this call on every level. My family is like that. I have friends that are exactly like his brother. She goes to the mountains on little weekend trips all the time. She just got a new car. She buys the food she wants, she buys the clothes she wants, she buys the coffees she wants, she treats herself to eating out and going out with friends. And sometimes it REALLY hurts my feelings when she talks about it (especially when it the only thing she talks about). That being said, I also know I'm way better off than she is. It's just wishing I was already in her place, in the place of being excited about the things i FINALLY get to have that catch me up. I'm just so happy I get to do it without the massive amounts of debt that she has and ignores

You have the option to finance everything too…just make your choices and stop being jealous of how others decide to live their life

Some people make bad money choices but are good enough at their jobs that they just earn their way out. It’s either that or thry face a financial catastrophe which no one should wish on their friends and family. The only option is minding your own business until their business affects your business.

Owning materialistic things is not the only way to have fun. I think on the debt journey people need to find other ways to find happiness and create fun moments for themselves

Why are you jealous of your brother? Be grateful for what you have and don’t worry about others.

When you buy anything with banks money’s, the things doesn’t belong to you. They belong to the bank. I am very proud of having my old minivan title on my hand, on my name and if anything happens tomorrow I can sale and have the money right away. My house belongs to the bank but me and my wife are working to belong to us. Be happy and debt free free free free.

What is the income difference? How does he know his brother financed things? My brother has no idea of our total income, or our net worth. A resentful person thinks the worst if everyone happier than themselves.

I happen to know when people are faking it because those same people demanded that I help them pay their family member's bills and railed at me about how I never reach in my pockets to help. Any further questions? I have answers.

I don't generally care for John's opinions, not because there's no value, but I'm just not into that mushy gooey lovey type shit, but after hearing him basically tell the dude to grow up and quit acting like a child, he's not so bad.
