Can honestly say you've become my favourite channel on KZbin! The combo of your humour/personality, pro editing skills and good vibes are a winner! I just know your channel is gonna get crazy big one day! 😁 You deserve every bit of success. The Pigeon is looking super sleek, you've done her up to such a high standard. We all go through phases of feeling down, letting stuff overwhelm us but the important thing is to feel what we need to feel but not dwell on it and always remember the positive things in life! Hope you're okay. The adventures sound awesome! Big things coming for this channel 👍

Testing the van in the Alps before driving it to the arctic circle is a good idea, i just don't know whether Switzerland is one as well. I live in southern Germany, not too far from the Austrian and Swiss border and I'm in the Alps several times a year with my van. To sum it up the alpine countries: Austria: Nice, price level normal, overnight camping outside of camp sites in general is absolutely forbidden, fine is 220 €, police knows how to use P4N. Switzerland: Nice, price level is absurd (example: 10 eggs ~ 9 to 10 €, Pizza in a normal restaurant ~ 20+ €), overnight parking situation depends on canton, usually quite relaxed. Italy: My favorite, normal prices, overnight parking not a problem (nobody cares, lots of free official RV parking). France: Like Italy, maybe a little bit more expensive, but still OK. RV overnight camping is usually accepted. I would recommend Italy, nothing beats sitting in an italian Cafe/Bar and sipping a cappuccino with a cornetto. People are friendly, prices are OK and there are enough high mountains and valleys to test your van.

Greetings from Finland. The quest for the Arctic Circle is really something to wait for. Season dictates much of the needed gear. Seasons without snow are easy, well maybe if not counting zillions of mosquitos, but wintertime driving requires good stud tires and arctic clothing. I'll be waiting for these epic episodes with popcorn ready. In which country are you going to visit Arctic Circle? Or perhaps a grand tour across all the Nordic countries. Or maybe you want to meet Santa and his staff in Korvatunturi.

If you are travelling up to the arctic circle through Finland you will need to make sure of proper winter tyres and 2-3 Jerry cans for fuel, first of all check out the weather during the winter, in the summer it's all about the mossies, they're as big as a wren and vicious
@Guvnor100 Жыл бұрын
Apparently great for mountain biking in the summer. Apparently the mossies make the reindeer herd up and pump out an almighty stink. That helps the reindeer owners find them when the time is right.

Don’t forget to change the tires to all certified weather (snow rated for the countries that require it to be legal) and get a set of snow chains which you practice with. You may benefit from changing some of the vehicle fluids the manufacturer will have recommendations for -20 ish. I would recommend a mountain four season sleeping bag and down jackets and pants. Insulated snow boots. Consider a sat phone and satellite internet.

Glad you managed to get yer butt out of bed for that spectacular sunrise, Mornings are the best time of the day. Sounds like you have a plan WRT leaving the UK. Years ago, I left, thinking I would be away for a year, ended up being 4 years. The best 4 years of my life. So do it,the UK will still be here being, well, the UK. Experience different countries, cultures, food and all that good stuff that isn't British . I'd do it again in a heartbeat, but I have a dog and two cats that I can't abandon, but if I ever get the van situation sorted, well they would come with me. I'm sure we will all enjoy the ride with you, so take a deep breath and do it. It will be THE ONE

Looking forward to seeing your oversea adventures. Are you going to get winter tyres? If you are, i would advise against getting the ones with the big chunky tread blocks like the (AT grabber) that are all terrain and getting specialist winter ones that are designed for snow and cold temperatures, such as the continental winter van contacts.
