LOVE love love love this new series. I also was surprised at how much I enjoy weightlifting. I know we’ve all heard the myths that we’ll get super big but that has not been the case. I feel sooo much more energetic and seeing how much I can lift and the progress is soo exciting!! I’m with you on this journey, you are so capable of getting to where you envision yourself. ✨ we got this!!!

Fueling your body is SO important! It’s great that you realized that in order to build muscle, (& just function in general) while also working out every day, you must consume more food. It seems counterintuitive, but that’s the way our body works! Loved this video. You go girl :)

Hey girl ! I just wanted to give you a little help for the beginning of your journey. I may mention that i am a student in dietetics and nutrition so this is not just no knowledge-base that i say this. If your body is physically telling you to not eat anymore food, trust it. Because this was your first workout day and the beginning of your journey, your body didn't have the time to adapt yet. It's okay if you don't meet the amount of calories you "should" consume, with time your basal metabolic rate will increase, trust me. If you fill up your body too much, you might experience more fatigue and trouble digesting the food your body didn't need to fonction, and you might not want to eat anything the next day because you're still feeling full. Take it step by step, don't force it onto your self. I've experienced the same journey as you, trying to eat more and more to gain weight, but that just increased the amount of acid in my stomach (natural fluids that are here to help you digest when your body is struggling to) and I wouldn't eat for the next 2 days and i'd feel like crap, and that obvioulsy didn't help me on my journey because I would end up eating a very low amount of calories in general. You can also try eating smaller meals, and eat more meals a day, it helps your body digest better and keeps you metabolism up ! Be gentle with your body, it will adapt !! You got this !!

So excited for youuuu~ I recently came to the same mindset since I also learned I have minor scoliosis, and my body had just gotten so weak that I managed to pop a rib in my sleep, so I signed up for a personal trainer to keep me accountable and not injured while muscle building. But after two weeks I was rear-ended and I'm still recovering from whiplash so my pcp banned me from going to the gym atm. In the meantime I'll live vicariously through you! You got this 🖤

Wishing you all the best on your weight journey and other goals. There’s not a doubt in my mind that you’ll reach each and every one of them. This tutorial felt so therapeutic for me. You’re so good at speaking on issues that are so needed for ones mind and body. I always walk away from hearing your own personal messages, I mean really hearing it and for me it makes me feel like refueling my tank, hit reset and run this race with a purpose… Intentionally! Thank you once again for sharing.♥️🌹

Girl I’m going through the same thing except I am trying to lose weight and get stronger. But I feel the same way you do. Lethargic, weak, bad posture because I work at home and desk job, sleeping in the wrong positions and just being in constant pain and discomfort. I don’t get nearly enough sunlight and outdoor time as I should. The pandemic really has made me so much more aware of my body and it’s time for a change! Wishing you the best and healthiest journey! We can do this 💕

I definitely recommend trying to split your calories into more meals so then it’s possible for you to eat more. It also allows your stomach to digest the food more properly so you’re not completely full still when it comes to eat your next meal.

Love this series! Just a heads up, since caffeine/pre-workout makes me anxious sometimes: if you ever find that it causes anxiety, you can add L-Theanine. It's an amino acid found in green tea that decreases anxiety and promotes calmness. Also, there are caffeine-free pre-workouts if you're ever interested in those.

I recommend doing a warm up and cool down when you workout. It’s important to do these because it moves the lactic acid from you limbs to your liver so it can be broken down. Without implementing this, it stays in your limbs causing that pain

Yay, weightlifting. You might love Russian style kettlebell, since I saw some KBs where you workout. It's great for your back and posterior chain muscles, booty perk-erlator (I also have scoliosis). Aside from swimming and dancing, it's my favorite way to workout, every since the 90s, and I love the psychological benefits too. And if you struggle to open jars. It helps with that too lol. It's super great for strength, stamina, cardiovascular, flexibility and lean-looking muscle. Kettlebell might just be the most fun and effective workout for me, and that's while having ADHD lol. I always feel amazing after and you can keep workouts short and sweet. I find it entertaining, even with ADHD and pretty exhilarating too. It's also a great way to get good cardio in with certain moves when done right, rivaling going for a run in far less time. And it's pandemic/lockdowm proof and can even act like as a cheap, compact, at-home gym. I do, however, recommend using at least 12 lbs or more, which even my 74 mother can handle. 15-18lbs is ideal for female beginners though, but do what you can. It's usually 15-28 pounds for women, but many can do more. It's also highly important to study up on and to practice moves through trusted sources, especially when doing kettlebell swings, which are pretty fun and really effective, kettlebell cleans, snatches. You can find sources online or see a Russian Kettlebell instructor, since they're big on proper form. My favorite KZbin sources for tutorials for swings and online workouts are Pavel Tsatsouline, Training Hub, Zuska Light, Mark Wildman, Lauren Brooks and a few others. I also like Body Fit by Amy, Training Hub, shortcircuit_fitness, Fitness Blender and Heather Robertson have decent workouts for kettlebell too, but are still working on form lol. It's good to just keep in mind that not all instructors know how to use a kettlebell or do a swing, so be careful lol. Moves like the kettlebell swing are a ballistic movement, where the power comes from you butt, hamstrings, and for mostly not your arms. Its similar to a hip home or deadlift - not a squat, as one to many instructors tend to do while using your arms. If you see them squatting or lifting with arms to lift the KB, move to someone else lol. The arms meteor act as sort of a pendulum but don't do much work in a swing. Some crossfit tours also lift out above their heads, which is fine, but it can hurt you and it changes the move and effect/ benefits of the swing when done vs lifting to hip or chest height, as commonly seen with Russian Kettlebell. Another good muscle training and ballistic cardio workout like kettlebell swings with similar benefits is the rowing machine. Kettlebell also let's you do plenty of other weightlifting moves but also works stabilizer muscles.
