// ABOUT
I’m Asia Jackson and I’m an actress and content creator based in Los Angeles.
I went through most of my life with an undiagnosed anxiety disorder and clinical depression. It was difficult for me to participate in life, find joy, and be happy. I felt like I was just floating through life with no direction. After seeking help, I’m now on a journey to learn how to live an intentional, beautiful, and joyful life and I want to encourage other young women to do the same. We deserve to live beautiful lives. Let's create them together!

// FAQ’s
“what’s your race/ethnicity?”
⇢ i’m black and filipino (igorotak!)
“are you australian or american?"
⇢ this question always gets me LOL but i’m american
“why do you have different accents?"
⇢ i’m an actor so i often like to play around with and practice different accents and pronunciations randomly in my everyday speech. don’t take my pronunciations or accents too seriously!
“do you speak tagalog?"
⇢ taglish lang…sobrang sorry talaga hehe
“where are you from?"
⇢ i’m a military brat so I don’t have a real hometown. but i went to high school in long beach, ca so that is my honorary hometown lol EAST SIDE
“was that you I saw on …”
⇢ i’m an actor, so it’s very possible you’ve seen me on tv! if you thought you saw me on modern family, the young & restless, speechless, superstore, alone together, or the lifetime movie ‘stalked by a reality star’: yes, that was me lol

this was one of my favorite youtube videos of all time, especially the Baldwin quote. When I'm entering a depressive episode, I try to bring in quite of a few of these tips as "lifelines" but I hadn't thought about the smoothie one! I feel like I've resorted to takeout that ends up making me feel less energetic than before. thanks for the tips and vulnerability :)

This video actually brought tears to my eyes, like a sigh of relief. It was beautiful and truly made me feel less alone in my journey to recover from major depressive disorder, social anxiety and addiction...it has been a difficult few years, but recently I've been working really hard at my recovery with a therapist and today I was feeling down and losing faith in myself, and now I feel motivated again to not give up on trying. Thank you.

I am not sure if it is your mom, but I think that it is. It’s so sweet to see how selfless a mother can be (even the one serving you the food). She did not care about if she got the bits that are not so tasty and nutritious; she wanted you to have all of the best bites!

I really feel with you when it comes to "moving to the next task", i am always so stressed because everything I do becomes a task, even things that are supposed to be fun. so i rush through them being very tensed and not at all relaxed. it feels good to see that someone else can relate to that. i have recently tried to do the same things (skincare routine, cooking, stretching etc.) with the goal to do them extra slowly, like uncomfortably slowly, thats when you really challenge your anxiety and notice that it disappears. my best tip!

I’ve been following you for a really long time now but i surprisingly didn’t get a notification for this video. However, i’ve been feeling really stuck and overwhelmed lately and it has negatively impacted my mental health. I really was just browsing the web to find something that would ease this moment for me and alleviate the stress my mind and body are going through. And that’s how i stumbled upon this video. Just wanted to say that it momentarily calmed me while also providing me with useful information and tips on how to get better in the long run, as these are tips that might as well become healthy habits. Just wanted to tell you that, thank you and hope you’re doing well 🙏🏻

I married the love of my life and now I’m a mother of three beautiful girls which I’m so blessed to have but still I go through depression episodes and get so deep into feeling sad and worthless that I don’t see my blessings.. thank you for this video it’s a nice reminder for people like us.. it really touched me when you said experiencing the light again because we really do get engulfed in the darkness and it seems to us that we can’t get out but we eventually do.. ❤️

Girl you have NO idea how much I love you and this video! So many of these things I’ve incorporated into my lifestyle esp during quarantine and I’m proud of it. Slow and intentional living is the only way we can give our best in life. From the fireplace sounds, to never regretting walking, the after shower feeling, and I’m currently rereading YAAB so I screamed when you read it too. Thanks for reminding me there’s someone out there just like me and that we are living this together. Mahal Kita! Lovely video ❤️

You truly are all so strong even if it doesn't feel like it. The human brain is strong and it wants to live, it wants to live without pain and that is possible. 💕 You are already enough. You have always been and will always be enough. This society makes us feel like we're not. Perfect doesn't exist and I wish you all knew that, I wish you could see yourself through my eyes. I wish you could see your potential through my eyes, as you see other people and think they can do anything - think like that about yourself. There is work to do, inside of us, but if we believe and if we are willing to do the work, things won't be as bad anymore. And they could in fact be very good and magical. The light is shining in everything already, it's just for us to see the magic ✨

You are an angel. Another video of yours appeared as a suggestion and you immediately drew me in with your vulnerability and honesty. This depression and anxiety thing is a BITCH!!! I’ve lived with depression for a long time but the anxiety piece was diagnosed far too late in my life. It’s been my biggest battle.... I figured out depression (sort of) but I’ve been learning so much about how my anxiety manifests and this covid thing hasn’t helped at all. My dad died in September and I’ve been struggling even more. I decided the low dosage of my anxiety meds was not helping and I needed to do all the things I know but can’t seem to get them to stick or to stick to any routine. I know you are helping many. Your video is coming as I’m pushing myself to move out of my rut. Please keep this up. I wish I had half the knowledge you have when I was younger. You will be ok. Keep shinning your light through the darkness. Don’t stop reaching for support when you need it. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾💪🏾

Showers are what helped me climb out of a depression I've been dealing with for years until recently. I noticed my constant thoughts of dred and uncertainty seemed to mute once I stood under the hot water for a while. I'd take a deep breath and just start washing. I never gave myself a moment to sit in my thoughts. Thats when the meditation came into my life. This all happened in the span of a year and a half. Be patient with yourself, because nobody else will.

It’s so crazy that you posted this today. I just watched your video about taking antidepressants last week. And today I was diagnosed with adjustment disorder and was prescribed lexapro. I’m not 100% sure if I wanna take it yet, I wanna find new ways to help me cope with my depression and anxiety before going straight to meds. This video really gave me some new tips (that are simple and don’t make me even more anxious 😓) You are such a light, thank you ♡ ✨

Wow this was so calming. I was supposed to get married last Sunday but the wedding had to be postponed because of Covid and I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy the same day. I flunk an exam for the second time and I got the results last week. The past few days haven't been easy. This video really helped.
