To avoid lifting off the ground I do pull downs 1 side at a time. It's also less strain on the door.

I'd still have the problem with being pulled off the ground, but it would be more awkward being on one side. I think I'd also have to grab the band directly as it would be too long (too much slack) otherwise. If it is working for you though, and you don't mind the additional time it takes to complete the workout, that is awesome!

@@GamerBody I wonder if putting one of those Nordic Curl under the door straps with the feet or across the legs would help? Ultimately, pull-ups and chin-ups are superior to band or cable pull downs, even if using an assistive band that way.

I’ve discovered this as well. Hybridizing calisthenics and resistance bands is the best option for at home training. I have a squat rack with a mini bar and some dip/row/pushup arm attachments that I use and a few duffle bags of various sizes that I’ve filled with water bottles to achieve different weights. I use my bands and door anchors to simulate cable machine exercises, but generally do weighted variations of calisthenics.

For back why not just do bent over rows or seated rows with bands?

I do them as well. However, I do think everyone should have a vertical pulling movement such as pull-downs in their workout as a basic movement pattern. Pull-ups are my next option. I love doing seated rows with resistance bands and I have a few videos on them.

@@GamerBody ya good point. I do pullups of different variations but pull downs are good to sub in. Had a funny thought about ratchet strapping yourself down to a heavy bench or something for pull downs lol.

Clickbait thumbnail got me thinking you received a face shot from a broken band... Hope that's not the case. I'll like to hear your opinion on resistance bands pricing because I'm yet to spend more than 11 USD per set (seriously) wether that's pull up or tube style bands and they hold for almost a year with weekly abuse (I have about 5 or 6 sets, I use a different set per day). As a matter of fact I've been working out for about 2 years and only 3 or so tube style bands had snapped on me.

Pricing is a bit high, but Im willing to pay more to prevent snapped bands. 2-3 snapped bands in 2 years is more than I'd like to happen. The worst Ive had is a band snapped across my back without a shirt one, and that was horrible. Ive snapped a couple since, but avoided it hitting me - luckily. With my setup now, loop bands are the best, and provide the most resistance for the exercises I am performing. The UnderSun bands did the best for me overall so far, for the price.
