I came here for a number of reasons. My wife passed away last summer and I need to get back into shape. I really don’t want to go to the gym for the sake of saving time and I’ll be moving into a smaller place so resistance bands are exactly what I need. Thanks for demonstrating the different uses of the bands. I too was caught up in the numbers game of lifting and working out. I’m not going to do that anymore. Thanks again.

If you have to use the anchor on an inward open door. Put the anchor on the side of the hinges. Much more stable and even if the door opens most anchors wouldn’t fit through the gap.

@𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐱 @𝐋𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭❓ My buddy has the door gap about as tight as it can be and if he puts that hook/anchor his door won't latch (the side that opens) so then he thought "I'll try to hold it on the hinged side of the door" and it messed the hinge up and the hook/anchor. So this was a word of warning.

One thing one has to realize when coming from weights to bands from a powerlifter's perspective is that you need to get out of your ego and head and work on the contractions. Personally, once I got over the amount of weight I was lifting and focused on the contraction and lowering the resistance on the bands I got a much better muscle activation and better pumps. Great job James... 👍

James! I just bought the Undersun Build Bundle, and I could not be happier. I wanted to take a moment and give a shout out to you, your wife, and the crew. I'm in my late (late) 40s and am a life-long martial artist. I did my first workout with the bands today (thanks for all the content here too, man!), and the manner in which the moves access the muscle groups/bodyweight is brilliant. Looking to build those fast twitch muscles, and I can truly see how this will enrich my training and how it will be a set of "weights" I can work with as I move into my 50s, 60s, and beyond. So much better and more adaptable (to me) than TRX for what my needs are. Side note, I dig your philosophy, and we are, it appears of similar mind in approaching things. Be well and thanks again, Peace.

Lifted free weights for many years and then took a long break because of life circumstances. In 2020 I unknowingly got a SLAP tear in my dominant shoulder. Started lifting about 18 months later and then injured the shoulder further. I’m looking forward to using bands. He may have mentioned it in detail somewhere in the video, but form is absolutely critical - it’s how I damaged my arm! Free weights require a lot of stabilization and, therefore, sometimes cause unnatural movements by our joints (shoulder blade impingement, for example). It seems bands might be a better solution to keeping the tensions but more forcing one’s joints and ligaments into unnatural positions. Can’t “weight” to start my new workouts this week with the Undersun bands!

Not one thing which looks difficult is that with weights we will be lifted exact amount everytime but with this band there are no marks so will identify the point where we hold in previous set of exercise.

This is an amazing informative video. I always thought exercise vans were just to use like a physical therapy but now that I’ve discovered this video and I was told I should do resistance training. I’m very excited to be able to do this at home. Thank you so much.

Great informative info. Fantastic to see someone who thinks out of the "weight "box. Bands have allowed me to keep training pain free without.joint issues at 58. Keep em coming, James.

The best point made in this video is about training by feel. I was so mentally zonked out during one of my sets on one of my dumbbell exercises last week and ended up realizing I had counted way beyond my normal reps. And I could still go. It suddenly made me realize I wasn't using enough resistance on that muscle group and I'd been accomplishing nothing on my previous workouts with that exercise. So I kept going, went all the way to 30 reps, which was my point of exhaustion, and did 30 on my other side too. This week I've upped the weight and giving myself a real workout on much fewer reps. If I had just kept on mindlessly counting reps instead of listening to my body I'd be basically not exercising at all.

I use to watch his videos before. Infact this very video was the second one I watched. I even bought my own set of resistance bands. But I still had my weights and I was more of a weight lifter. I had my resistance bands just there Packed up. I recently sold my weights and switched to a chalisthenics and resistance bands journey. And I knew I needed to watch this guy's videos again. I'm seeing a lot of athleanXs resistance band exercises too. Both are great!! I'm excited to start my new journey. Wich is today!

I am amazed at the absolute endless potential and benefits...particularly getting older .... less chance of pulling a muscle, being able to pack it into your luggage to exercise anywhere anytime no restrictions ... another benefit I noticed is that you can 'change weights' without having to put one down to find another lighter/heavier weight, you just change foot/hand position and finish of your routine maintaining the intensity. James, thank you well-presented video and super exciting watching your demonstration of endless possibilities ... Resistance bands are definitely the future and will revolutionise overall body workouts for a long time.

I'm sure your Undersun bands are great, eventually I'll get a set and I use loops at gym sometimes. However, I own, for years, the handle type. One does not have to attach the handles. It's easy and imho more comfy to hold the round band and the linear vary then can be done the same as the loop, but again more comfortably. No gloves needed. Door anchor is the same and you don't have use the knot. I like the handles and of course there are many varying diameter resistance bands to stack or attach.
@francohic4 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same. For me, he is just trying to sell his band pack, pero the handle ones are the same or even better

How to use resistance bands is a great video. I’m learning a lot from this tutorial.
@Turco9494 жыл бұрын
With the tube band with the handles, you could actually use the handles for your feet and then use the band part for your hands, again, creating different levels of resistance depending on where you hold the band.
@guille20744 жыл бұрын
I do exactly that and work perfectly.
