Hey, in the event it breaks again, have you looked into buying a stock ECU component? I've seen some for sale here and there. That way, you could swap your flashed ECU with the stock one and then take it to a better/different dealer. Just a thought

@@jamesgeorgevellavella1961 surprisingly no bmw will honor the warranty as long as they cannot prove that the tune caused the failure. Bmw has also said that any modification will not lead to the warranty being void but it can lead to a denial of a claim, for instance if you blow a whole in your motor bmw will look through the data logger and see if the bike was sitting at crazy high rpm or running extremely lean. If neither are the case then bmw will honor the warranty, if not they will not void the warranty only deny the claim meaning that if you have other issues like a blown fork seal they will still be covered

@@NovaZqAtm I own a grom and I’ve rode a few 300s including an r3 I’m getting an mt07 soon and rode one a few times and it’s good for the city due to the gear ratios I had a Honda shadow 1100cc which was fun but too much for the city Basically I live in NYC so a grom or 300 is more than fun, but a 600-700cc is the most I’d go for the city. TLDR: 300s are fun no matter what unless you live in the middle of nowhere with open roads for miles then you’d want a 650-1200cc

The problem is in the flash. They disable the de-acceleration fuel cut to make on / off throttle transitions smoother. But it makes the quickshifter malfunction. Brent tuning can correct this. And he has a copy of your original bin file.

Sounds like the motrocycles track with BMW cars. Once you are out of warrnty, they become a complete disaster. I had a great looking E46 long room, but once you started to near 100,000 it was a great looking mechanical/electronic neightmare.

Life is short, not worth the problems. Sometimes you gotta cut your losses and move on. Have family or friend list your bike privately, it's not that big of a deal. Though, really you should leverage your social media and sell it yourself. Put it out there with a firm price, must pick up. It's just part of growing up and being a man. Was at the Ducati dealer yesterday, sat on a few Panigale's. Such nice bikes, gonna have to pull the trigger. Always loved the Ducati's, though honestly your experience and relationship with your local Ducati dealer kinda helped push me in that direction. Keep killin' it bro!

Ducatis are great. If you do your own maintenance you only have to pay extra for Desmo service every ~20k miles. Which is nothing. Why be ANOTHER one of the one billion ninjas on the road when you can ride something much better looking and much more unique. The new ones are reliable as fuck as well. One day I went for a ride to the beach in the middle of a hot summers day and because I was only going 15 minutes to the beach I decided to wear a singlet and shorts on my ride. At this point I had been riding for 5 years and considered myself a very confident rider. This was literally the only time I’d ever ridden without my gear and guess what, a car pulled in front of me and then jammed on their brakes and I hit the car and came off doing 50mph on the highway. Needless to say I was a bloody mess and just because I was experienced that didn’t save my skin. Wear your gloves bro, your hands are always the first thing you put out to stop your fall. Loves the vids, looking forward to hearing the outcome of this quick shifter issue

Yep, when people always wear gear then randomly choose to not wear it, is kinda stupid. To me it defeats the whole purpose of wearing it every other day 😂 why wear gloves every single ride if ur not gonna wear them every now and then, if you crash on that 1 day you weren’t wearing them then it defeated the whole purpose of *ever* wearing/owning them if you were willing to crash without them 😂 Seems like people get the perception that since they own gear and haven’t ever crashed with it on that they magically won’t crash on the day they decide to not wear it. I’ll never understand that. That being said, I don’t care if people wear gear or not but to me doing that is damn near more stupid than someone who doesn’t ever wear gear, 😂 atleast they always have and always will actually be willing to crash without it. 12:50 This is an easy fix and common problem with all quick shifter motorcycles; the wind pressure pushes the clutch lever back very slightly, thereby engaging the shift sensor. You can replicate this by very slightly pulling on the shift lever and then trying to shift with open throttle. It's difficult to replicate this on the road because it requires a lot of speed for the wind to push back your lever. Easy fix: readjust your clutch lever outward so it doesn't trigger the shift sensor.

@@stevenmadrid3630 The bike I own now is my first bike with a quick shifter; I didn't realize that I often keep my fingers on the clutch and thus kept missing shifts. I had to relearn pulling my hand off the shift lever after each shift.

Didn’t BT MOTO solve this issue with the clutch engaging at high speeds from the wind pushing on the clutch lever and activating the micro switch and it wasn’t allowing him to change gears with the quick shifter??

Great video as always. If you do want a liter back to replace the bmw, I've heard nothing but good things about the 21+ zx10r's. Or, maybe you could get a 2025 R1, as they just updated it for the new model year so it has winglets, KYB front forks, and full brembo braking. Just a suggestion, do what is best for you.

You don't need to go back to the dealer to reset the service minder. You can do it with a GS-911 or Motoscan. I don't know how good the Motoscan is compared to the GS-911. I have a GS-911 as they were the first scan tool for BMW bikes and have been the gold standard since. I just did an oil change on my 22 K67 and switched off the service minder with my GS-911. Hexcode has also added coding capabilities to the platform in addition to the standard diagnostic features.

On a serious note you should have known better. I have 2years unlimited mileage warranty but I know if I touch a single thing, it gives them grounds to void any warranty repairs. CALL IT A LIFE LESSON. If you want to upgrade bike then get used to wrenching on the bike. Trust no one is another life lesson as everyone is always trying to steal. (Hence why I have my house on the market)

For the service light, you can buy a GS 911 to reset them and read error codes. It sucks to buy but if you plan on keeping a BMW longterm, it's worth it.

Only issue I’ve had with mine. (I’ve had it since 2021) is a coil pack failure & leaky right fork which is super weird because I don’t wheelie. My R6 never had any of these issues lmao. Happened about a month ago, I was randomly riding and all the sudden the exhaust note changed and sounded like it was running off 3 cylinders & then I lost all power and it shut off & wouldn’t restart lmao

Commuting on a motorcycle has many advantages. It's more fun, so you'll end up in a better mood, it's faster if there's a lot of traffic going on, and I guess yes, if you get people who have a fast car or just want to do a little sprint pull then yes, you definitely are faster then most. Other way I really enjoy about it is seeing other bikers, greeting them. Also the looks people give and pictures they take all the way to young kids give thumbs up and asking for a rev or something. Always makes me smile. Sucks the BMW's are having some issues. Heard multiple around who had problems but also a lot didn't. Seems really weird. Hope they get it sorted, but yeah if you feel like it's time to sell since you can't enjoy it to the fullest and need to make time free for bringing it and picking it up to dealer etc whilst being busy, guess it's the better call. Then orientate for something else if you feel like it. Also of course buying new isn't always better since depreciation is always a thing and you know as well, mods being put on a bike will not make it worth more necessarily.

Its literally every young man wandering the European vehicles. They make good looking cars/bikes that drive well and break... a lot and take a lot of money and time to fix. Just a tip, stay away from the European cars/bikes unless you are rich enough to change them for a newer model every 2-3 years which is their target consumer. If you could look up the statistics of BMW/Mercedes/Audi's buyers it would be old rich men and spoiled rich kids whose dad buys them the cars/bikes. And the reason they depreciate really badly is because they tend to have a lot of problems after few years so no one wants them. Audi is a great example you will find cheap Audi's in good condition and i am gonna give you a meme hint that is not a meme, its a trap and that car will cost you a more than what you buy it for.

It's high performance, yes. However neither of my Hondas have ever had a catastrophic failure where it was out of service. They both will start, run and keep running until the tanks empty or I turn the key off

Not just their bikes, either. Their cars have a lot of problems too. Mainly electronics and computer issues. I like the engines and all. But one thing gets thrown out of wack the whole thing snowballs, unfortunately. I've had nothing but trouble dealing with dealerships. Got turned around about 4 different times on my car for a clutch recall a few years back because they couldn't get the whole kit at the dealer. Ended up having to go out of state to a different dealership and the fixed the issue.

i think that as a last resort is to take the bike to a different dealer (even if its out of state) to ensure that whatever issues finally get fixed. fortunately you do have other bikes you can ride in the meantime but it would be a shame to get rid of the bike you've put so much time, money, and effort into.

I mean… you should have been warned that modifying a bike would invalidate warranty. Nor if you’ve tuned it, can you claim it’s a fault with the BMW… the tune wasn’t BMW approved - hence no warranty. Just a crap scammy dealer doing things off-corporate script. An hour long ride is nothing 😂 do you even ride? I go an hour to mine, easy. And no, you don’t have to take it in to the dealer… just buy a reader and something like Bimmergeeks and you’re golden. Riding without full gear is moronic too. I’m glad I bought my 07 Yamaha fz6. Paid $3300 with 18k miles. Rebuilt the forks, new tires, did some cosmetic things. Already came with a Leo Vince exhaust. Im just under $5000 which I didn’t think was bad for my first bike

I bought a leftover new Gen 5, 2018 zx10r in 2019. Had 0 miles on it, paid 12k out the door, tax title, everything, 12k. This bike has exhaust, tune, flash, and 40,000 miles. It had been in the shop 0, yes, 0 times for anything other than regular service. Same with my 06 zx6r, and its a stuntbike. That bike also has nearly 40k miles. Its insane that bmws cant get their shit together, because they are beautiful bikes.

You could EASILY sell the bike 3rd party....its not that big a deal to deal with people (figure the dealership has been dealing with you all these months on this issue, an individual is no different)...or you could see if you could sell it on consignment(LOTS of dealerships will allow you to sell on consignment for a fee...). Personally I think you are GRASPING at finding an issue with the bike and will not be satisfied with any solution. You are the only person I have ever heard to ever have issues with the dealership or the mechanic. The fact that you state yourself that the only way you can get the issue to occur is to ride recklessly is somewhat telling...as no way someone else is going to ride your bike like that to get this phantom issue to occur...even your video, what happened is so slight its barely even noticeable.

Why not put the dealer on blast if they’re continuing to delay repairs and just offering terrible service. Seems this is the bigger issue than the bike itself and you should provide fair warning to fellow riders if they choose to do business with your dealer.

Most modern Europe bike's log everything. The BMW even logs it when you hit the limiter. Ducati KTM etc do the same now. Theres also other ways to reset the service lights. But have to get an ODB tool thats compatible. Some bike's you can use certain button combo's to reset it. But yeah sell that pos lol. BMWs aren't that good anyways. Too many issues

First off, you do you. If you want to ride without gear, that's your decision. Second, when you get confident, when you think 5 years experience without a wreck means you won't have one, that's when you'll get f'ed up. I really hope you don't, but gear is a small price to pay to be safe and whole.

Voice your reasons for not wanting to remain with that Dealership to the Trading Standards Authority or whoever offers Consumer Protection. Coz if you followed their advice when purchasing and they told you they'd honour the Warranty and now their saying something different and just messing you about Im sure they can impose fines on them. Write a letter to the Dealership Owner , he might not be happy how the staff have been behaving, always go higher. 👍

every youtuber buys a s1000rr and has many issues and engine blow outs, yet people still go out and buy them its good content but im pretty sure its very stressful dealing with the drama and dealerships. zx10, r1, cbr rrr do not usually have these kind of issues yet no one wants to purchase them. I understand bmw is making alot of changes and new things added to the bikes and its great but man they need to iron out the quality in these bikes.

get the bmw people like to talk shit about bmws not being reliable but they are. my bmw has had less problems in 4 years than my "reliable japanese" vehicle has had in 2years. bmw also has almost 3x as many miles driven.

I've had my s1000rr for a couple months know it's a 2024 no issues but was going to install a full racing exhaust on it akroplvic after seeing ur video I'll jus wait tell it breaks in after it's 600 mile period I'll install it but ya I love this motorcycle and it's my first bike never have ridden before or owned a motorcycle

Those hard to fix problems are the worst, sorry this sucks. Especially when the dealer/mfg fight you. Your experience with Ducati is exactly the same as mine, unless I have a massively big problem, Ducati all the way for me 👍
