As an H2 owner it boils down to it should of came with an intercooler from the factory, hard to sell a 36k bike then put another 4000$ intercooler on it. But on the flip side of thay if your spending 36k on a bike then you shouldn't be bothered. When people talk to me about getting an H2 I tell them to add another 10k ontop of the price for the intercooler and the exhaust and the tune. I try to push people into used ones, you save so much money. Alot of your complaints can be solved with money. Alot of other bikes can't solve there gremlins with anything.

You can get the “self healing paint” on any bike, it’s just PPF, most good tint shops can do it for you. I usually PPF my tank and front fairings.

Need to do that after I get my R6 touched up. Going to be a min before then, but hopefully before it gets colder so I can get the PPF as well.

It’s not PPF on the H2, it is a chemical in the paint that reacts with heat to smooth the top surface, not PPF plastic film applied on top of the paint.

I was lucky enough to ride my brothers' 1986 H2 750cc superbike which had upgraded cams. It was a pain to start and had to be fully warm before riding or it would choke and splutter all over the place. BUT... when it came on cam my definition of warp speed changed... I had chased my brother to 220kph + on a zx6r (first of the ram air tuned airbox model) and he was leaving me in his dust and I was red lining each gear.. it was old, it felt heavy to ride, but it was the fastest accelerating bike I'd ever ridden.. today's H2 owes its heritage to that 750. 😎

I looked at getting an h2 but hated the ergonomics and the looks (in person). Wound up buying a zx14r and absolutely love it. Very comfortable. Already did 1” bar risers and touring windshield. After a k&n filter, delkevic exhaust and Moore mafia tuned ecu it has 198 wheel hp & 118 tq. Way more than I’ll ever need.

Make sure you get the APE billet oil pump cover. My bike 14r and many other peoples have spun rod bearings because the oem pump cover flexes under high load, drops oil pressure and spins the bearings.

I have NO issues with the H2 electronics - I mean all power or Rain mode is best. Keeps the bike reliable. I DO apologize, but every single time I subscribe to a channel (even with all notifications on), I stop seeing the new video notifications. Yours thus far are some of the best, and they all come up for me - KZbin's algorithm is seriously messed up

Also an alcohol injection system which virtually works like nitrous system but your only injecting alcohol which also has a cooling effect naturally. The system can be programed to work only when your building boost. Nitrous requires you to keep the bottle pressure consistent and will run out much quicker with use. Either way your adding alot of complexity and stand alone systems but just another option only necessary for super serious riders. As if the power of a stick h2 isn't already insane.
@irocss85
@irocss85 12 күн бұрын
I'll add 2 that nitrous is a power adder and alcohol is more like a power enabler because you can keep the charge air cold as well as make sure you have enough fuel delivery at WOT.

The thing is about the electronic package of the H2 is that it is a 2015 bike at the end of the day back then electronic packages what's the most crazy like we have now I swear the technologies are nowadays especially compared to the European manufacturer it's kind of specialty wild Japanese bikes more mechanical. But that's just my observation.

You don't need an intercooler, only if you tune it! I've had it since 2015 an the electronics's was good back then, the 2015 also for me is the pure original and even harder to ride but that's the charm of it, if I want comfort I'll take my zzr or H2sx se
@Jagshemasher
@Jagshemasher 11 күн бұрын
When you are pinning it and the supercharger is spinning at high speed the boost pressure is much higher and the temperature will increase - that is perfectly normal and would be expected. . . .ever checked the end of a bicycle pump after you have pumped up a tire. An intercooler will certainly help reduce the air temperature going into the cylinders and will increase the power output (lower temperature - higher air density. 200-250 degrees (F) is absolutely not a problem for metal engine parts (I'm a mechanical engineer) - the engine oil temperature is what matters and provided the oil flow through these parts is high enough the oil temperature will stay within an acceptable operating range . . . . note there are a lot of oils out there used in heat transfer applications that can handle 500F or higher.
@c0c0asauce
@c0c0asauce 5 күн бұрын
The main problem with high intake air temperatures is fuel related pre-ignition. If you check out the live data on a scan tool while driving most cars you will see the IATs are tied to hard limits on ignition timing advance. Naturally aspirated engines on pump gas (87-93 octane) typically run 25-35° of ignition advance at peak torque. Forced induction engines running pump gas typically run 12-18° of ignition timing advance at peak torque to avoid pre-ignition issues. Pump E85 (108 octane) can push closer to 20°-25° advance with forced induction. People like to keep their secrets about methanol tuning but I believe people will often run 45° or more of ignition advance and IATs are almost irrelevant due to the cooling effect of methanol fuel.

Intercooler is a must on these bikes. I have a H2 SX/SE and the wife has a ZH2. I track both of them and before adding the yagerworx intercooler to my bike, boost temps got 100*c (212*f) on a fairly cool day. The higher it got, the more the ecu was cutting timing. Got the intercooler and it doesnt matter the ambient temp, my boost temps stay cool. As for the service interval. Your dealership is partially full of shit. There is an extra service but all it is, is attaching a magnetic arm to the frame with a dial gauge to check the supercharger axial play. Literally grabbing the impeller blades out and in to see how much play there is. If its within spec, which it should be, its fine, no service needed. If its out of spec, the supercharger needs to be torn down and bearings/gears replaced. The axial play isnt $1500, so not sure where the dealership got that number from. There is one more supercharger related service and its easy but alot of work to get to and that is the supercharger oil screen. The fuel tank, air plenum, throttle body, right side throttle body holder, coolant hose and crank case cover have to be removed just to get to a small plug with a small little filter screen on. My SX had red loctite gummed up in it since Kawasaki loves using red loctite on every fucking bolt.

Sorry, but 240°F for a metal part is not even warm. Metals like those used on a compressor (steel and some aluminium) have a melting point of 2500° and 1220° respectively. Even if they are alloys with particular structures (which they are), the important changes in those structures don't even start happening at at least 600°. More over, those 240° you mention are probably the desired working temperature for the compressor.

If you do anything to make that bike better all you need is an ecu flash, and a full exhaust system. You 35lbs. weight from the exhaust and - no restrictions, on the ecu. If you think your'e gonna' ride it - so hard that your intake air will be too hot....your'e dreaming...Your'e not that fast - for that long to need to worry about it.
