Now that's a nice platform. Several years ago I owned an 06 E450 ambulance. Elected not to do the RV conversion with it for a number of reasons, not the least being that it had simply too many exterior cabinets which ate away at the interior space. This bus is a much more practical design. That diesel alone makes it many times more desirable. Best of luck moving it to the right home. Cheers!

I have a general question, why spent a lot of time and energy rising roof, insulating etc? Cut away the cabin, and use only chassis and front with driver seat. Than buy a semitrailer refrigerated box, build everything into it and mount on the chassis.

Hi Chuck bringing a bus to this level is a whole new market. I personally as a retired women would feel more secure purchasing a bus from YOU and having the solar done and ready for build takes away all my concerns. What price range would u charge??? I love this but except I would prefer the marine hatch to be located over the passenger side near either entry just in case of future leaks because I would not want to have any bedding, clothing, or dry storage in either of those areas just due to accessibility. Do you have a suggested interior layout with the current position of the marine hatch?

ha, ha, ha... Had that happen to me on a Dodge bus while on a cross country dog show adventure. Went to go to bed to find the emergency hatch had been leaking onto my bed, yuck! Pulled out a water dish, designed for dog crates, and suspended it under the leak for the night... Good point!

I am looking at doing a bus conversion with my students in my high school carpentry class. There is one for sale for $2,000. We have an autoshop class at our school and I think it'd be a cool project for them to replace the engine. What are your thoughts on this vs buying one that's a lot more money?

Do you have a video that explains why covering the original glass windows is a bad idea because it causes mold?

Hiding any moldy areas won’t stop mold from growing. It has to be removed. The mold SPORES, which become airborne, find their way into other areas, including the main body of the bus, where more mold will grow. As long as the spores have access to air and water, they can produce mold. Interestingly, mold spores can lay dormant for hundreds of years, but as soon as air and water become available, they start up again as if no time had passed.

@@joeblow1942 Then maybe you’re lucky, but still faced with a choice of whether to risk keeping the original bus windows (notorious for leaking air & water eventually) or going with RV windows which are less likely to leak and which come with 2-pane glass-a better insulator. Sometimes the owner doesn’t plan to keep their bus very long, so if the windows aren’t leaking, they roll the dice and keep the original metal windows & gamble that they will have sold the bus before the leaks start. It’s up to you.

Do you also want to talk about the disgustingly revolting moldy crud that grows in the ceilings, walls and floors? The same information about mold growth still applies, no matter where nasty mold grows.
