I'm so glad I got to see this live, I was laughing so much during this whole ordeal. Ive really been enjoying the coaching streams and watching Harry knock keys out one after another gave me the drive to finally pug keys on my own and go from 400 something rating to 2k. This week my goal is the portals for doing 20s which before now would have only been a wishful fantasy. Gonna go watch that kop steam you did, I know what's mostly holding me back is anxiety and I didn't know he had struggled with that as well. Anyway sorry for the novel and thanks for not only collecting and documenting these amazing moments in keys but also for sharing your insight and experience in the art of pugkeysmithing

Haha This druid would have loved my original days of tanking. When I first started in TBC, I didn't know the concept of AOE tanking and would use every CC available in the group. Freeze traps, saps, shackle undead, sheep... I'd mark everything accordingly (blue/freeze, purple dia/sap etc) and pull 1 skull, then kill every mob in succession one-by-one in each pack :)

18-22 maybe 23s have a ton of shitty players. You csn easily get carried to that level and then just have no idea how to use your utility, or know what mobs need stops, or even boss mechanics. Its wild out there.

whats sad is my friend plays restro druid, and he makes it look so easy, granted he's played restro druid now for like 5 years, but when he heals it feels like no one ever loses health. but this druid made it feel like every pull was a possible wipe

Ya they are legit so strong right now. A great resto druid can carry in a way no other spec can. But the average one is so useless it hurts. Seems like everyone agrees they are just the hardest to play for it's value

yeh, been gearing mine now i've got nothing to do on my other chars. been running 20s at ~470 ilvl no problems. not my favourite healing spec as nothing seems 'impactful', but it's certainly very effective. load up everyone with hots, shift into cat, do sick deeps and everyone lives. eze mode xD

In regards to resto druids taking interrupt, it's very difficult to do so. you'd have to give up something else of importance to do so, it's not in a good spot in the tree.

Oh ya, I know. But sadly it's very crucial this season. Especially in a 19, you will want to take these stops. You simply can't rely on others to kick in a pug setting.

Yeah, like I'm not a geat healer, but I've healed those pulls before without much problem. But maybe I'm privileged and never had to struggle in lower keys. There are some people who just jump in to stuff and learn by doing, without any idea of what's normal. I can only imagine what their experience has taught them to expect and be able to do.

It's great in theory. But sadly very very few play it even close to it's theoretical maximum. Most just spam hots and do zero dps, bring no utility, and constantly oom themselves overhealing.

This druid is basically one of those healers that i'm just simply putting on ignore as soon as he starts with behaviour like that. I think i would've probably just kicked him when he said only pull 1 pack at the start, there's no way he actually think tanks are gonna do that 🤣

@@Laptican Ya realistically its just because low keys are far too easy. I mean you see is LOUD AND CLEAR HERE. Have a tank who has no idea how to play his class upgrading 21s, and a healer who has zero clue what he is healing upgrading 20s. It simply means they didn't learn enough moving up the rungs of the progression ladder.

I mean this video got my back up a bit because you go on about how you do not like resto druids. But I think they are fun and great healers. However I should not really get "offended" because in truth I do the same thing. If I am pugging my own key I avoid Monk and DK tanks. I literally will not take them unless I know them or they know one of my friends in the key. Now Iv had some fantastic Monk and DK tanks this season. But for some reason when pugging I guess like you with druids, I have had more terrible DKs and Monks than good ones. So yea I should not expect others to also have prejudices against certain healers as we all have different experiences.

Right ya, just my personal experience and sadly I have a LOT of experience with this druid issue. It's not going away either so if you and other druids are upset urge your communities to either work better in pug environments OR push blizzard to help alleviate your interrupt issues. In terms of the rest, I totally agree. I would not expect anyone to prefer to play with anything but a vengeance dh right now.

There's a few things I'm going to disagree with and point out with this one. I've been a healer main the last 2 seasons but was a long time dps main so I don't always default to defending healers. The druid was bad and complaining about pulling 2 packs at a time is silly. However, going into a 19 I would expect the tank to not be learning both his class and how to tank the dungeon at the same time, there were definitely some issues with the tanking. It's fine to be learning, a pug 19 maybe isn't the best place to be learning all of that at once (see the add running around meleeing on the 2nd boss, missed stops on the blitz, and getting bodied by the spiders instantly). And in defense of rdruids in general, you lose half of your utility kit if you take your interrupt that you can only use in cat/bear form, so if you aren't already in cat form it takes 2 globals just to interrupt, keeping you from using it if you need to be actively healing. There's a 2 point talent you likely wouldn't otherwise take leading to it, so it takes 3 talents for a bad interrupt. In taking it, it pretty much bars you from taking some combination of hibernate (for incorp), improved nature's cure, ursols vortex, innervate, nature's vigil, renewal (self heal), or incap roar (which you never drop and requires another crap talent to take), it's also the only class that still has a 3 point talent that I can recall. It's also the most difficult healer to do effective dps on (though the healing rotation is one of the easier ones once you know damage patterns). You have to maintain rake, thrash, rip, sunfire, and moonfire while using globals going into cat form and doing the rest of the rotation. So this druid was likely both bad and wasn't able to make full use of his damage profile because the tank was getting smacked around. TLDR: the druid was bad and had a bad attitude, the learning tank holds a lot of responsibility, druids not taking interrupt is often justified in favor of everything they lose, and a 19 is probably not the best place to learn a spec for both the dk and druid.

He has already upgraded multiple 21s. Thanks for weighing in though. Sadly seen far too many druids complain like this, especially about interrupting. Case is shut in my book. If they refuse to take utility to help them interrupt I don't want to play with them!

I'm not a resto druid main BTW, I was just going for ksh for all the healers only pugging but life has gotten in the way, I at least got half to ksh or higher (including druid) and half to ksm. Druids do tend to be the worst healers I play with aside from mistweavers and disc priests that just don't play the specs correctly at all, it has a major skill gap. We just disagree a bit on the interrupt thing, it's just too costly some weeks in my opinion but that's better than priest who doesn't get one at all I guess.

@@unhingedcrouton Oh ya I know all about how hard it would be to use. The interrupt is VERY needed this season though, at least for me as a Non-Vengeance DH. I think players do not actually look at how much damage casts are doing now. There is not a talent in anyone's kit that is going to reduce more damage over the course of a dungeon than an interrupt, and especially in a pug where there will be dozens overlapped and missed, having 5 is crucial. At this level its obviously moot though. The reason its a discussion is because the dude is constantly complaining about interrupt despite not using any of the different options he could have to help with it himself. Then says stupid stuff like "I don't have free globals to interrupt, I have to heal." And there we are back to the previous point about reducing damage via interrupting. Realistically, the complaint appears to be with Blizzard though. You can't realistically say 4 interrupts is better than 5, so this makes Priests and Druids very difficulty picks for the pug world, and if druids refuse to use theirs, then they will need to petition Blizzard to make it more accessible. But I don't really buy that, as there have been quite a few that I have ran with that have taken it and used it well.

Its a team environment, and 4 other healing specs (all who have better kits overall, IMO) bring their kick no problem. So ya, you can say it sucks to talent into it, its hard to use, use lose other stuff etc. Okay, well that's all just making a case for not taking a Resto Druid in my eyes then.

Ignore was best part. When healing BRH I burn all my cds first 2 pulls cause I know dps not going kill casters first being lazy. I love it when dps let's arcane free cast picks us all off. That druid should do lower keys until feels confident

It's the fact that they are very powerful right now but some how a serious amount of the players do nothing other than spam hots on people. And ya the utter refusal to take good utility offered in the class tree is frustrating, especially in these low keys.

I have been taking skull bash, but wish I didn't have to take so many points to get it. The time to change form to use it also sucks. Imo, my best interrupt is my r.shaman wind shear, it's ranged & no forms required.

Looks just like a realy bad druid. Is he only spamming regrowths? If he's ranting about the spider debuff, he can comfortably dispell the tank every about 10 stacks. If he's ranting about the debuffs on first packs, I mostly just dispel the one with longest remaining duration and heal through the rest.

It's like the dude said stuff he knew was wrong to justify his play (and not taking an interrupt) then, when you (through Harry) called him on it he just kept doubling down on the stupidity. Classic. Two things this season almost always seem to deliver. AD and Resto Druids. Cannot wait for next season to see what the next "never fails to deliver" bottomless well of content is. As for the tank coaching all I can say is, Go Harry Go!

I personally don`t think it is a very good idea to put someone who is undergeared, and has little tanking experience into a +18 or higher. This seeems to me to be a recipe for disaster, and would put many people off tanking going foward. The best bet is just to run lower keys until you know exactly what is expected of you at all points in the dungeons, build up your confidence, then push the keys higher

the first pull of the dungeon has a stacking bleed that needs to be cleansed. it can spread to others. the other thing the druid was crying about was the archers. he was just not a good druid, roar is a nice ability

I don't about this critique of the healer TBH. First pull and the DK has no bone shield stacks. It looks like he has DRW available, didn't use VB on a difficult first pull. It's great you're teaching him the mechanics of the instance, but he should really practice the spec. I'm sure he's a great guy and went to you for guidance. I would just question is giving guidance on the mechanics of the instance is more important than playing his spec mechanically sound. Obviously, just my opinion though.

@@heythereguysitsMetro I get that. But if all he's going to do is blame others that's not great. Honestly, how many times did he use blinding sleet? Kudos to you to tell him what defensives to use as he was going up the spider stairs. However, they weren't available because he used them earlier? I think it was a fortified key, and the first boss is nothing for a DK. Again, I think it's great your helping your friend. Personally, I would recommend thinking about you can do better the next run. But, this is funny content.
