My mother and I swear by using leather cleaners and products from equestrian stores for saddles and other leather horse accessories in the mid-price range and up. I also use them on shoes, and they work like magic. For those feeling adventurous, you can even try horse shampoo for incredibly soft hair. Since equestrian sports are so luxurious, the products in the mid-price range and higher are of excellent quality and contain great ingredients-often better than products made for people.

Few things: we need bunker rat merch also, i was in LV in bangkok last week, looking very closely at wallets and key pouches. When I tell you it felt like it was a cheap plastic fake, i am being for real. I was walking through the markets not long after and the fakes did not look much different at all. It felt horrendous.

I have a question and potential topic for next livestream; How is it that quality and production differs so much across brands under the one conglomerate? For example LV only priortises its leather, the rest feels its gone to shit. and yet Celine still feels and looks top notch. I have bought Celine recently and I am so beyond impressed. The different brands are run like little separate companies. Yes there are some synergies shared between them, but they mostly don’t make decisions together. Celine meetings are totally separate from LV meetings, etc. so their quality standards and strategies can be totally different

I feel the end of luxury is also extended to a lot of industries. Just the last few days multiple Boeing 737-800s allegedly had technical issues and one of them was Jeju Air (a tragic accident). The aviation industry is scary now. Im sorry for the out of topic from fashion. Hej Dacob, I checked the 35ml Les Exclusifs in my Chanel beauty store in Sweden and the 5 bottle box is priced at 735 USD. I was so close to get one but actually 5x35ml is 175ml... and for that price I might as well get myself 2 bottles of the 200ml that I like the most. I love the idea behind it but it's crazy expensive for 175ml perfume.

Regarding the fake Chanel /Dior/Hermes items, i was on the floor of laughter!! They are an insult to fake items (as some fake items are very hard to detect). It is just sad, truly sad :( or maby they did it on purpose to attract views and reactions.

Hey Dacob! Great topic. I’d have to say LV is no longer luxury. They have over 6,OOO boutiques world wide vs Zara which has over 2,OOO stores. In order to keep their boutiques stocked that have to mass produce their products. They no longer manufacture their products in just France and Italy(although we now know Italy has sweat shops) they make a lot of bags in TX, their is a small plant 30 minutes from where I live in SoCal and Im sure they must have a plant in Japan or China…probably a couple as this saves them $$ on shipping and duties I am sure. Dropping new collections every month…is not luxury. Reissuing bags from the past….another money grab. I have to work very hard to reprogram myself from the past back when they just did bags and luggage as that is when I first started to buy them. I don’t own any of their clothing and don’t see myself buying anything from them in 2O25. I was a sucker and did buy the trunk Noe from their cruise collection this month but it is still wrapped up in the box…….although a great looking bag I have a little buyer remorse. I’m giving luxury a break in 2O25…sticking the archival pieces and vintage as I try out some new smaller brands not owned by a conglomerate that care about quality products. Just my two cents…guess I will be saving a lot of coin in 2O25.

Yes - I completely agree that LV is no longer (in my opinion) considered luxury. I don't think that many brands can label themselves as luxury, but rather, companies that are mid priced can claim that label. I've found that Strathberry's quality has been excellent. I think that their hardware, their traditional staple handbags, leather & construction are much better quality than most LV products. There are other mid range companies who can also claim the luxury title. PS: Buying stock in airline or fashion companies is extremely risky.

What do you think of Cartier bags? I used to love Chanel, LV and Dior but not anymore. My last purchases of Chanel was in 2023 - very disappointed that the GHW tarnish so easily now. I still love Hermes, but just not it's Birkins - maybe just not my style.
