I'm Spending 100 Hours in Terraria HARDCORE

One of the greatest challenges in Terraria is hardcore, but I have decided to make it even harder by increasing the amount of time I have to spend in each phase of progression. And so, every 10 hours I will only be allowed to beat maybe two bosses. This will open the door for silly mistakes to occur but it will also allow me to spend time gathering supplies. So in some ways it's harder and in some ways not but lets just see if I can survive Terraria hardcore for 100 hours.

Combat logging is definitely okay (for bosses you aren’t allowed to kill yet), as the only other option is to die, which means redoing the entire play through. You don’t want to restart, and we don’t want to wait 10 years for your successful run just because of those minor accidents. But, if you accidentally summon a boss and the time says you can kill it, you better be ready!

Funny thing is that bosses are often the least of your worries in hardcore. You're gonna be stressed and so you over prepare. It's the random mobs that get you when your guard is down

I think you're good to combat log when you don't intentionally spawn the boss

You just need 1 horseshoe balloon (is not 1 for each balloon), you can even craft 1 of the balloons with the horshoe in it and then add the other 2 later in the Tinkerer's workshop. My best advice for this challenge is 1) Build a Queen Bee arena that will also be a Plantera arena (in the future) in Pre-Hardmode. 2) Use scarab bombs to make perfectly straight horizontal tunnels in the jungle (to have better chances with life fruit and plantera's bulb). 3) Make all the fishing areas that you need before Hardmode. 4) Make surface lava traps at your spawn house (for events), at the jungle (to farm Turtle Shells) and an AFK farm underground that you could later use to safely farm Hallow materials (I normally make them Hallow/Ice to get the hardmode Ice weapons and the Ice Turtle Shell). P.s. I think if you DIDN'T start the fight on purpose against the boss, you SHOULD Save & Quit.

If you are dedicated to the challenge, then my idea is: you beat the boss, trash the statue and the loot sack, amd need to beat them again afterwards I'm in the pre hardmode of calamity master mode, going in blind btw, wish me luck!

Problem is that just beating bosses can unlock things even without the loot. For example, Queen Bee means the Witch Doctor will spawn earlier than should be accessible.

Speaking from experience: once you start playing hardcore you can’t stop. Playing terraria in any other mode feels hollow now I have dedicated hundreds of hours in hardcore

1:26 the easiest way to beat a pirate invasion without being killed is the flying knife, an infinite range yo-yo-type weapon that has a very long duration time that can fit through one block holes and be used to no-hit the pirates. The only thing would be the pirate captain spirit, but that can easily be avoided by just… not killing the pirate captain. Edit: it also works very well on enemies with multiple segments, making it a very good Flying Dutchman killer and Destroyer… destroyer I would love to see this help you in the future!

One thing I recommend for fishing up Sky crates is to build an artificial sky lake above spawn. Harpies only spawn once you get a certain distance from your spawn so you don't have to deal with them and risk ending the run. Also its nice for doing fishing quests because its easier to get to.

One thing I learned from playing Summoner is (aside the fact I kinda suck some times) you *never* want to lower your guard when it comes to the regular mobs. I've never beaten Master mode, although I have everything short of the Moon Lord at this point (well, the Empress of Light and Fishron also need to die.... yeah I beat the Golem before them)

The world gen and chest loot on this map is so kind. I have a master run (not hardcore oh hell no) in the early phases right now and I'm some 30 chests in with no 'X in a Bottle' and the only grav potion got me no sky islands on a full 1/4 of a medium world map. I'm currently grinding out Ancient Corrupt armour just to make up for the conplete lack of progression available before I go for skeletron. Pheonix Blaster cannot come soon enough.

I just beat master hardcore and it was a breeze. I played melee and maxed out my defense and damage reduction. There was never a moment in a playthrough when my health was below 50%. All you have to do is be cautious and overprepare that’s it

I honestly think that barring bosses that you can defeat within your ruleset, combat logging is perfectly fine. Hell, its a mechanic in the game so I dunno why it would be considered cheap. I do it in dark souls all the time to cheat gravity deaths or nope out of boss fights with my souls.

Its funny that my personal experience with hardcore mode is that most of the time i effing died to either the environment (yeah i died twice to trap - cactus and explosive), or events (again died twice, one to Solar Eclipse post Plantera, and other is Pirate). Bosses i always crazy prepared for them
