About the BalmDotCom, I like to use some of the flavors as an all over balm for my cuticles or chapped nose in the winter things like that. The old packaging was great for a multipurpose use and now it feels shoehorned into being just a lip product.

It makes me look like my foundation is a mask, and it somehow also loves to highlight my dry patches? I’ll be so interested to see your review of the Too Faced natural nudes! I bought it a while back to act as a workhorse everyday type palette, I wanted to love it so much but it pulls so incredibly orange on my skin I just couldn’t get it to look as flattering as I hoped it would do and the shimmers were a really mixed bag in terms of how well they performed - from ok to terrible. I feel like we have quite similar preferences in terms of eyeshadow formula so would be cool to hear your impression.

Thank you for commenting on the BDC reformulation, I've seen so many on yt this week talking about the sephora launch as if it's a smart move, which sure objectively making your brand more accessible to more consumers is usually a good thing, but not when it's at the expense of your existing customer base that are very unhappy with the new HIGHLY inferior reformulations. There's been lots of talk about them more than likely planning to reformulate all of their products to be "clean" (🙄) and vegan eventually, and so many of their existing cult favorite products like BDC, boy brow, stretch concealer etc have things like beeswax in them that are one of the main reasons the product is so good. The new BDC formula especially is apparently super thin/watery and drying according the people that have tried it, and when that's probably the most entry level product for a new buyer to the brand having their first experience be with a shitty product is probably not going to do you any favors on the attracting new customers front... I agree that this feels like Bite Beauty 2.0, which is a SHAME because for all their faults glossier makes some holy grail products of mine and I'll be sad to lose them in my collection. If they wanted to expand to new retailers going into Ulta and keeping their existing formulas instead of trying to appeal to the bs clean beauty market would have been a much smarter move imo, but alas.

8:38 Bite Beauty did this with their Agave Lip Mask. They took the lanolin out to make it vegan, and they RUINED it. Omg you just mentioned that as I was typing it!! I LOVE YOU. That mask was my Holy Grail. I bought 15 when they started putting them on sale, and I have like one left... there are some on the internet for $45... but at some point they will all be gone. I've even tried buying the new version and mixing Lanolips into it lol... not the same :(

If you place an order from Flower, you HAVE to try the Jet Set setting powder. It's a powder in an aerosolized can, it's so weird, but it leaves the prettiest finish on the skin. You also need to try the Nabla powders, they make incredible blushes & bronzers, heir highlights are nice too, but if you're not a highlight bee than skip it. I also want to hear your opinion on the new Liquid Lurex from Lisa Eldridge in Cressida, I recently discovered it's not my thing, but I think you would love it.

Now that I know that, I'm completely uninterested in "natural" deodorants, which a.) don't keep you unstinky, and b.) irritate my pits. Oh and c.) feel wet? which is gross and disconcerting lol

I always thought the dinky applicators makeup products often have were useless to everyone, until scrolling through reviews of a bunch of makeup on Amazon where the most consistent complaints were that a product didn’t have/had removed the applicators. It seems like there are a lot of people who just buy, say, a blush, use it up with the included brush, and are ready for a fresh new one when they repurchase.

I have that Too Faced Natural Nudes. The shades are warm, even though some of them look cool. Shimmers are best wet or with finger/over a tacky base. That being said, I love it way more than the Patrick Ta. It blends itself and is easy to use.

I’ve been mixing patchouli and Bergamote by le labo as my “signature” fragrance, but I have wanted something that still is interesting and more floral for spring/summer. I think we are in a transition time, from the matte finishes (baking anyone?) and nude everything that have been dominating at least the last decade, to the blues (light and "denim") and the "wet look" of the late 60s and early 70s. We will see how it goes. Sadly, for mature skin both extremes do not work well, too matte or too shimmery emphasizes what you do not want emphasized. We still need middle of the road shades and finishes to actually enhance skin and features. Thanks for keeping it real but with enough venturing into the new to keep it fun without falling into the fast-fashion-make up trap.

Ha! I think I’m in the very small target audience for their deodorant. I’m just not that sweaty/stinky (like almost any deodorant is fine and I skip it altogether some days) and I LOVE the scent of body hero. Like I bought the candle and everything! Glossier is a company I have complicated love/judgment for… but I’m also over here loving the newest lip color releases! And wearing wowder and lash slick. Even when their products aren’t my favorite version (didn’t love cloud paints) at the end of the day their aesthetic is really similar to how I wear makeup 🤷🏻‍♀️

Denim eyeshadow 👀 and red lipstick will NEVER be for this girl. My skin tone has never meshed with red lipstick, I’m a similar shade depth as you but tend to lean a little more green/grey olive like Hannah. I watched Toms review on the Mario foundation, it was SO glowy but not a good dewy juicy glow….more like a wet/sweat looking shine. It also had the whole Edward Cullen glitter thing going on, why put visible glitter in a foundation. It’s like the rare beauty highlighters all over again, glitter!!!

Too Faced is such a frustrating brand because they’ve shown they’re capable of creating really beautiful, high performing products and they just…choose not to consistently do so. I have their all matte palette and it’s my favorite matte formula. They’re creamy, perfect level of pigment and practically blend themselves out. My sister has the Born This Way palette, and while it’s a beautiful color story it’s just not even in the same league. You use it and you’re like “yep, that’s eyeshadow”. The shimmers aren’t anything special, the mattes aren’t creamy and the darker colors can get pretty stampy. Not worth the price tag, especially for a brand you can usually find at Marshall’s/TJ Maxx.

The only fun things about TF are Lip Injections lipglosses (well they *were* fun but now they don’t even tingle. I think I developed a tolerance. They don’t even hv cool colors tbh I look like i may be wearing EOS) & their holiday schtick is the best of the bestest of the holiday releases!!) n.B. I destashed half my TF collex today. Regrettably I can’t resist a pumpkin spice anything esp a liquid lipstick or an eggnog scented eyeshadow.
