Because the elites made it compulsory. If it was a option, Insurance Companies policies would be much cheaper. I remember when they made Crash Helmets Compulsory, the same Helmet went up 8 fold. I have not made a car insurance claim - my fault in 45 years of driving, why don't I get my subscription back?

Car insurance is literally the Wild West. The government don’t do enough to regulate the industry. Insurance companies literally pluck numbers out of thin air most of the time.

Small print should be large bold print in law and be written in plain English because falling foul of it is bloody costly. The days of free anything have gone.

With my insurance, I had a small standard car as a hire replacement. When the car hire company realised the third party hit my rear and it was 100% not my fault, they offered me a Volvo XC90, probably one of the most expensive vehicles in their range. Came to nearly £9K for about 3 weeks

just been through a year and a half of this myself after my car was written off (not at fault).Refused to give financial details (rightly or wrongly) to my solicitor when asked based on the fact I wasn't told at any point the payment for the car hire was means tested at any point. Eventually court date was issued and other party settled 3 days before that date in full. I think I was 6 weeks @ around £160 a day for the cost of the hire (Audi A3) which was claimed by the third party insurance as "excessive".

Credit Hire has 4 key elements to it - enforceability, need, period, and rate. Most insurers fail at the first hurdle because they fail to properly explain the agreement that their insured's get into, which arguably makes the agreement unenforceable.

Daniel covered most of the key points. However he didn’t mention that if court proceedings have been issued, there is likely a court order that the Claimant (the caller) MUST disclose all the financial information. Failure to do so might lead to the case being struck out. If that happens, the insurance company might sue him for their legal costs.
