Update; I was using these under eye patches almost everyday until I realized one day, they were more mushy than normal. After they had sat in the jar with the serum for a few weeks they have softened up a lot. Still usable, but much harder to grab. As for the ones stored in the fridge, still in plastic, they seemed to dry out a bit and have white specks on them. I'm doing more experiments and plan on posting another video like this with more info. Thanks for watching!

If you have access to it, caffeine would be a great heat safe active to add - it’s soothing, anti-inflammatory, and reduces redness and puffiness under the eyes!

Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, cant wait to try it! Couple questions: at what temp does the eye patch mixture start to solidify (thinking in terms of adding other actives and at what point it would be too late). And do the patches keep their firmness in the serum medium in the jar after a while or do they soften? ❤

I have a question: if my diy body cream oxides or has discoloration over time because of fragrance oils, should I add mica powder that matches the discoloration or would using color theory work by choosing the opposite color of the discoloration to cancel it out?

Because it takes quite a while for it to solidify wouldn't the mixture cool down enough to incorporate ingredients that are heat sensitive? I'm just wondering 😊
@TaraLeee2 ай бұрын
maybe if you time it right. i realized after making these that we should put most of the actives in there storage serum rather than the patches themselves

thanks so much! i’m glad you enjoy my videos. as long as the preservative you use can withstand heat to 100 degrees celcius and its water soluble, then that’s fine, but this is the only one i know of.
