Not long after posting this video, I noticed that the spider legs were starting to get bent out of shape under the weight of the model, so I added a thick acrylic rod to the base that will support most of the weight of the model. You can see a photo of it on my Instagram below. Just a little warning if someone else tries this project. I don't think the legs are thick enough to actually support the model over time, at least not with a heavy resin brain bowl attached instagram.com/p/CXwP8ZVO5Pz/

I had a strong suspicion this was the reason why you were experimenting with transparent plastics :) But a Christmas ornament could not have been more appropriate!

Yeah, maybe Stan Solo will put one up on their Etsy store at some point...that's be awesome. With coming across all these professional made brand new Kenner style Star Wars figures has me regretting selling 95% of my vintage collection years ago.
@cyrusq59993 жыл бұрын
@@Chalor. I made the same mistake in '94 (selling off my 1978 - 85 figures). If I knew then how much Kenner vintage go for now, I NEVER would've sold them. Rebuilding my collection has been EXPENSIVE. I won't be making that mistake again.

One of the most interesting things I'm looking forward to in Book Of Boba Fett, knowing that we've only seen snippets from one episode, is how much pre-existing lore will be drawn upon for adding flavour to the stories. They did an exceptional job for Mando, especially season 2 where almost every episode had at least one cool callback or surprise, making it watercooler fodder for the subsequent week, and that worked out so well for them I can't see them slowing down on that now. And it's Star Wars-palooza throughout 2022 on Disney+, so even if they did slow down a tad, there's another show to make up for it coming along a couple of months later.

Have you tried using a polishing dermal on the clear resin? It may help with the transparency.
@MightyJabbasCollection3 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried that, no. But I think there is a limit to how far you can get with 3D printing. I can't see it ever being close to as clear as the Christmas ornaments I ended up using.

Aw man, I was hoping for a Jabba & co. group shot at the end; or maybe one 1/6 figure posed next to it to get more of an idea of its massive size. Brings a little tear to my eye every time I see one of these custom Jabba denizens...cause we're never going to get that 1/6 Max Rebo band Sideshow said they were gonna do so many years ago. Only saving grace is if any of those species show up in the new show and get made, but I don't see some Amani or Klaatu getting made.
@MightyJabbasCollection3 жыл бұрын
Well I did show it next to one figure (Bib), but unfortunately I just don’t have the space to show or even display it next to Jabba.

it's beautiful. Something that confused me is that in the Boba Fett trailer the monk looks as small as an actual spider, or a rat or something... While I could remember from ROTJ that they were as big as a person. So I thought "mah, my bad memory, it's probably not the same thing".
@darthprime49163 жыл бұрын
I’m thinking they will have legends cannon or something close for their story as it seems this division of Star Wars is paying at least homage to the original material. Just the fact it’s in the trailer gives me a new hope. 😉 Great video also!!
