Pretty neat design! Since it's all open, maybe a disassembled version would be easier to work with and sell as DIY kit. With a custom box and maybe a stand, that would make a cool gift.
@MightyJabbasCollection
@MightyJabbasCollection 3 жыл бұрын
That would be closer to the original model kit and I did consider it, but getting all of the parts to fit together seemed like it would be very difficult so I gave up on it. I'm way ahead of you on the custom box idea though...
@CoolestUserEver
@CoolestUserEver 3 жыл бұрын
@@MightyJabbasCollection Maybe the advantages of scalability (painted or not) would offset the troubles of a complex design even for failed prints. Smaller parts, smaller loss I guess. Of course, only considering you would sell these and also not get blasted to hell by Disney!^^ But I'm very curious to see the end result in box and all anyway!

I’d love to see that. The only thing I could think of would be to use figures articulated enough to fit inside a hollowed out shell. Personally Ugnaughts or Jawas would be a funny usage of characters, even just random aliens. It would make a Jabba puppet fit in too the Star Wars universe in a comical way. Really hope you figure something out, it would be nice to see what you come up with.

This is an amazing Jabba project!!! With a slight bit of modification, you could do a Jabba/Terminator mash-up with the skeleton painted like metal instead of bone and the internal organs modified to appear like wiring and gears. A visible Rancor would also be incredible. Or a visible Gamorean Guard. Or a half-scale visible guard... mixing your previous tiny action figures with this visible skeleton project. Keep up the great work!!! A visible Darth Vader goes without saying...

Very impressive work, especially given your "novice" sculpting experience. I think it turned out great! The line you got on your print is a known issue with the Saturn. Elegoo released a firmware update to address that as many users were getting the line. I was getting it (occurs in the middle of the build plate) and the issue was fixed after I updated. You just need to: 1. Find the serial number for your machine. It should be on a white sticker on the bottom of the unit. 2. Contact Elegoo and ask them what firmware version you need as there are 3 different ones. These each correlate to one of three types of screens they used. 3. Take note of which firmware version you have. Can be found in the system menu on the printer. 4. Once you download the correct firmware version do the following (as Elegoo's official instructions were a bit vague). Unzip the file, copy the two files in the "firmware" folder to your USB root. Print the update.lcd file then the CBD file. It will prompt you to restart, then you're done. Should only take a few minutes to do and the line will be gone. 5. Check your settings menu and the firmware version number should be updated. 6. You'll be printing line free Jabbas in no time.
@MightyJabbasCollection

Interesting. I can’t say that the line appeared in everything I’ve printed but maybe it’s just more noticeable on certain models. Do you know what the cause is?
@fryingtoast1457
@fryingtoast1457 3 жыл бұрын
@@MightyJabbasCollection It was a line of pixels was turned off or something like that. Elegoo's offical response on facebook, "This newest firmware for the PJ L1 screen has solved the problem that lines may appear on the model due to firmware bugs in printing". It was unpredictable, my first two prints had the line then it stopped for a short while. Then it showed up again which was very frustrating. I looked at your video and see the line is prominent on the skull but also runs along the back of the head and down the rib cage area (but is more faint). The line is always a vertical one, so not corresponding with the horizontal layers. It's especially noticeable on smooth surfaces and seems to run in the center of the build plate.

This is so cool! I’d almost love to have just the hutt skeleton in my collection, but I can imagine how delicate it would be with all the bones and small bits. Do you think it would be possible to print just the skeleton and organs by itself, and encase it inside a translucent print of Vintage Jabba?

Cool that you did it. My only beef is how you connected the spine of the tail to the body. That isn't realistic, but I get that you were trying to keep the spines visible. (Most likely they would have been turned on their side behind the long intestine. I agree, you should sell the model on Gambody or somewhere else. Nice work overall!
@MightyJabbasCollection
@MightyJabbasCollection 3 жыл бұрын
I was operating on the idea that the torso section would sort of pivot from side to side somehow, allowing him to face forward or to either side. But of course it’s not meant to be totally realistic.
