Great video, and welcome to the full throttle club, I have the 5th Gen Genesis off road dual battery setup with two full throttle batteries and love it. One battery just used to start vehicle, and the second battery is used for my accessories like winch and lights and rear power distribution panel. The genesis dual battery system can connect both batteries if you need extra starting power. Plus it’s plug and play, meaning the install kit is modular no cutting or crimping involved.

This may be a silly question, but I'm trying to learn and I think more people have the same question. At what point of adding lights, winch's, and other elect items do you have to get all the modified elect panels and extra batteries? What can you add to a 4Runner before you get to all the extra elect requirements? How do you know when? I haven't found anyone talking and explaining about this?

Many, if not all, AGM batteries need higher voltage to achieve full charge (my Odyssey does). Might want to check with Full Throttle on that. There are ways to trick the Toyota charging system into providing higher voltage, and the battery will last much longer with proper charging.

Yeah, definitely. Almost all tuners can adjust the alternator output voltage which is my plan. Great point though!

I was under the impression that you don’t want a deep cycle battery as your starter battery, only the secondary.

AGM is a bit different from a deep cycle battery, and the Full Throttle battery is not technically a deep cycle battery since there isn't really such a thing as a deep cycle AGM battery. They market it as such because they have developed a slightly different type of AGM battery that can be discharged further and has a higher capacity than traditional ones.

Don’t like the big uncovered hot terminal on top. Accident waiting to happen with shorting it. A custom cover or something needed.
