Glad to see you again! Wish you a lot of success with your development/games. I totally get what you have been through; I took almost the same path, being a analyst programmer for my bread and butter, and spending that money and the remainging time on the music, my "real purpose in life". Did a full sabatical too for music... but it did nothing good... due to bad timing and stress(Covid). What a hard path. I don't know about how you did manage to remain "sane" so far ;-)

welcome back. youtube is a crazy thing. because you have done a lot of videos, and I have watched all of them, I feel like I know you and your a mate. so when you wasnt up loading I got worried about you and well being, especially with the pandemic. so I can honestly say that I am so pleased that your safe and well. the game looks brilliant and I wish you every success with it. look forward to your future videos what ever they may be. also dont over think the content, as alot of us like you and your style of video making and will probably watch whatever you want to up load so all power to you "Brudda"

If you do decide to give KZbin another go, and are interested in hearing our thoughts on what videos we enjoy, I have to say that the One Synth Challenges are at the top of my list. They are brilliant to watch and extremely inspiring. I enjoy all of your videos, though. Maybe you can try doing some game programming videos as well to expand the channel.
@strange_loops2 жыл бұрын
just wanted to say.. I think you should be very very proud of this channel. You influenced a lot of us here and provided lots of great education and inspiration for all of your viewers. Monetization on KZbin can be brutally tough to make sustainable and I don't think it should be tied to how "successful" once upon a synth is as a project.

23:29 "I put everything into it.. but if people don't like it, I guess that's cool too" Man, I genuinely wish I had your mindset and focus in making creative projects because I tend attach my self-worth to the success or failure of anything I make, so I usually don't go all in on a project and just "half-ass" it. I would love to hear more about your work ethic and how you approach "failure" creatively. PS just wishlisted. Best of luck to ya :)

Welcome back! I see so much of me in you. I am a software developer too, and a musician and artist on the side. I stuck with the 9 - 5pm job since I have family obligations and do my music/art projects on the side. Very tough to get those side projects done though, when you work a career job during the week. I also get tunnel vision too and have many interests. Now you got me thinking about creating a video game and doing all the assets too. Ugh, I don't have time though...lol. Best of luck to you. The game looks great!

It's on my wishlist now, and will purchase when it's released. You've provided so many fun videos in the past, it's the least I can do. You could make a production series here on youtube, and maybe think about starting a Patreon where you can provide stuff like synth patches, game scripts or whatever. Or maybe livestreams with donations, where you do a playthrough or something. Just a tip/plea, don't just drop of the radar next time!! :) You had a lot of people worried.

Woah! I didn't know you were a software dev, that's cool. And you're developing a game? You really know how to suprise. The game looks cute, hopefully it's successful and profitable for you. :) And I know already by now that the soundtrack will be great.

I still have my normal job in IT and try to live out some things in my free time. Although that's not too fulfilling. Uvek javi da si tu ili da si na “pauzi”… a pogotovu ako ti treba neka pomoć. Uplašio si nas… ali ajde… naj važnije da si tu i da ti je dobro (nadam se). Želim ti puno sreće sa novim projektom!!
