Well done on getting the car up to standard. Just a couple of notes for people taking on some of these tasks. When replacing the valve cover gasket, ensure you apply RTV in the areas identified in the workshop manual. These rubber seals are renound for leaking, I apply a small amount of RTV on top of the Spark Plug holes to prevent oil leaks into the top of the plugs and leads ( this is when you get misfires from these engines ). Put the Rattle Gun away, they only strip bolt threads. Your not on a hourly wage, so a few extra minutes on a job like this isn't going to hurt.

Nice one, I've got a 1.5 VVT Swift on a 06 plate, had it for 5 years now and its not really let me down. On 125,000 miles now. Only trouble is its £210 tax.

I had one of these and you have nailed it, you can use all the power and enjoy it. Also doing 65mph fells like your doing over 100!!

Such a nice feeling once you realize what the issue were, specially when you think your loosing the battle,why is England so shite when not having the correct spare parts, just bought Suzuki swift sport today same model same year and colour,actually seems a solid car and sounds nice with split exhaust pipes, My steering wheel seams a bit stiff when turning , I am not sure whether is should whether it should feel really easy to turn the wheel? My daughters think its an old mans car, but they have not sat in it yet, I.6 in a small car` no turbo to mess up or prematurely where the engine , chain timing not a belt,what more could you ask for, The only gripe I have Japanese cars most have reliable engines but the underneath rust is not there friend,

Loved the swift series mate. Learned a lot and shown people who don’t know what working on cars is really like. As a mechanic by trade myself these little niggles do catch you out and can be confusing and have you pulling your hair out. It is a great feeling when you finally work it out. Good video mate. I’ve learnt the hard way with buying 2 or 3 of the same part only to find these companies giving us the wrong one always check if there are more than one and if your removing an OEM part compare to new before even starting so you don’t end up wasting so much time fitting and then finding out it’s wrong and the pinch bolt you should use a high tensile bolt when removing it if it sounds tight when coming out your fucking the thread so always have replacements ready but keep up the good work man

Good little Build, I enjoyed it. Don't spend any more money on it, just buff and touch up the front bumper, maybe knock out the damage yourself after removing the interior around the rear quarter panel, tbh I would just leave it.

Please get a torque wrench!! Its never good to be doing gaskets without. Even a cheap one is better than nothing. On a more positive note these are really good cars, great chassis my mate had one back in the day and he could keep up with my clio 172 I had at the time. Only thing it's missing is a 6th gear for cruising! They sorted that in the next generation but they got heavier

Make sure the sensors are from main dealer I had the exact same issue… they aren’t long enough so the magnet in the hub doesn’t pick it up. If that doesn’t work then I’d suggest a new abs pump

Should always use new pinch bolts and the correct ones with thread lock nuts

You can do your own tracking, you need to purchase the drive over tracking plates

Hope that bolt is the right strenth m8? Look on the bolt and see if its a 8.9 ' 10.9 or 12.9.

Nice vid mate in future to rule things out try cutting the brake wear sensor and tie the two wires together this will tell the car that it’s plugged in and see if it goes out 👍

sorry to say but the bottom pinch bolt you can't use any old bolt. You need a proper pinch bolt which has threads the it gets thicker with no threads.

I have a DDIS diesel swift myself, not as good as a proper Swift sport, but I love my car. Though I'm tempted to trade it in for a swift sport now after watching your reaction 😂. Great stuff Jesse 💯 job well done I'll keep an eye out for those abs issues on mine

If you think the zc31 swift sport is fun you should try my zc32 swift sport , still has the 1.6 n/a engine but has more power and torque and handles better from standard. Mine is modified so maybe you would like to try driving one like mine some day if so let me know 👍

Just a quick heads up about the MOT content in this video. It is illegal for a MOT to be recorded. It’s allowed to be covered on live feed CCTV but is not allow to record. The content in this video could potentially land the MOT testing station in alot of bother if the wrong person from DVSA watches this

Utter bollocks. I can stand on the public footpath all day long and record them doing MOTs. The garages are usually recording all day for security purposes. I’ve seen many many tv shows showing most of not all of an MoT. What you’re referring to is some dodgy test station near you who don’t like being filmed. Nothing in law states you can’t film the test. In fact my local MoT test centre use cameras to display the MoT bay in the waiting area
