I just recovered from COVID, unvaccinated, little overweight, 34 and a smoker. Doctors prescribed me a zpack and told me to keep moving and stay hydrated. For me it was the nastiest, weirdest, and scariest head cold/flu I could imagine. Had a fever for 7 days, no appetite, no taste or smell, unreal heartburn and digestion problems, but I never had a problem with my lungs. My brain was in a hyper aware state until my taste and smell came back and the fever broke. I ate 4 or 5 small meals a day and drank nothing but water and coffee, and I NEVER stopped moving, walked in circles on my car port and around my yard at least 10-15 miles a day, no matter how much my body didn't want to, especially my legs. And my case could be considered mild- moderate. I'm not an anti-vaxxer, and I also believe people should have their own choice. That being said, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. My wife had covid a week before me, she's younger and at least as healthy, and it knocked her down, and it took the monoclonal antibodies to turn her case around. The first 5 days she had it she just layed around and got worse, and she's extremely active. After the her antibody treatment and my positive test, I tried my best to get her moving, and she forced herself, and she started recovering much quicker. If u decide to not get the vaccine, be prepared for a battle, pretty much the gist of my rambling. The potency of this virus is too random to play around with, this is NO flu!

It is not fair that vaccinated people with other illnesses have to be put on the back burner to those who refused to get vaccinated, when vaccines are so readily available. Those of us, like me, who have had our booster for being immunocompromised are also fine! The vaccines are safe on weaker people like me, they will he fine in the vast majority of people. They are sending patients away in my city to a hospital nearly an hour away, or you can get a bed in a hallway. My doctor also let me know that they are deciding the protocols around how they will ration ventilators here in North Texas. Don't get in a car wreck or accident, don't have a heart attack or stroke, don't get another illness that you'll need a hospital for, because they will not have a bed for you.

@@evolutionistheflyingspaghe2702 Okay. Yesterday was the first time I ever posted anything except my resume on the internet and this reply will be the last. It just isn't worth it. 1) My doctors told me (like I didn't already know) that for me, Covid = Death. No ifs, ands or buts. Due to other medical conditions, I cannot risk contracting it. I got my booster yesterday. I still wear a mask, wash my hands constantly, disinfect door knobs, faucets, phone, remote controls, etc. I go to stores that I must and don't mind going outside where it's easy to avoid others. So I'm pretty sure I am not and never will be a super spreader. 2) Science: My family is composed of 4 rocket scientists. Literally. Two Phds, 1 Masters and one BS. One NASA, 2 JPL and one too classified to really know. Also two Phds in chemistry. They work on solutions to global warning. Then there was the outcast who went into Finance. So, I am inundated with science, as all family members are science freaks. And the science, while incomplete, clearly indicates the vaccine is the way to go. And the current hospital covid patients are almost exclusively unvaccinated. Your 40% of vaccinated patient statistic is wrong. Period. AND she was in a major car accident before I was even born. Between my mothers many many visits over the years for her chronic conditions throughout my childhood and the everyday craziness that can land you in the ER, St Charles has always been a comforting and healing place in my mind, no Emergency Room has ever lived up to it in my mind lol, so much so that seeing the hospital gowns the bed linens and the hallways in this video makes me homesick, they're EXACTLY the same as when I was a child, I spent a lot of time in this hospital I even remember doing my homework there some nights and the cafeteria there is bomb guys a nurse was so sad for me once she got me ice cream. Its weird being an adult and being so far away from home and having a hospital of all places bring back memories of a time when I was cared for and loved, even just being a patients kid the doctors and nurses and even the security staff would take the time to make me laugh and smile and talk about what I was going through, even if I didn't even fully understand it at the time. So basically I'm sitting here like man, I hope they're getting through this pandemic alright, even though how can they? Its insanity, but if they're doing half of the hard work and caring and loving atmosphere they had when I was a kid man, you guys are probably doing better than you think. Idk if any of the staff at the hospital will even read this but like, good vibes on ya'll, I feel like I just really wanted to share that.

Those that weaken their immune system with terrible life style choices? How about COPD that was caused by smoking? Maybe the drunk driver that caused an accident or the drug addict that overdosed? @@rolandrockstarmega1299 The only highly effective preventive solution that is proven by real science (as apposed to foolish social media conjecture) is the vaccine. @xxfalconarasxx56593 жыл бұрын
@@rolandrockstarmega1299 What makes you think that? Most COVID-19 patients aren't just thrown into the ICU to rot. Doctors and nurses work hard to treat these people. There are treatments for COVID-19, and we do use them. Unfortunately, they are not very effective, so some people die anyway. Monoclonal antibodies are used to help the immune system, but they are only slightly effective and are extremely expensive to produce. Antibiotics are used to treat secondary infections brought upon by the disease, but they don't do anything to the virus itself. We pump patients with IV fluids to provide adequate nutrition, and keep them hydrated, but that only helps so much. Thoracentisis procedures are performed to remove fluid from lungs, but it only buys the patient so much time. There is no cure for the virus, only a couple of weak treatments that buy your body a little more time to fight it off. The best method of combating the virus, is through the vaccines. They are free! They are effective! It only takes a few minutes to get the jab, and yet we have so many stubborn people that refuse to take it, because of pundits spreading misinformation about the vaccines, and downplaying the severity of this pandemic. The odds of dying from virus is about 2.14%. In a population of millions of people, that's a pretty high death rate. The odds of dying from the virus after taking the vaccine are less than 0.01% with in the first 6 months of receiving them. The odds of dying from the vaccines themselves are effectively 0%. The only chance you have of dying from the side effects of the vaccine is if you have an immune disorder or an allergy to one of the ingredients, and even then, these rare instances are entirely treatable if action is taken swiftly.

3 vaccines in a single year doesn't sound like a success to me, it sounds like a rushed process that failed. A for effort. However, natural immunity to the entire virus will be far superior to a single strand of mrna that allows the body to identify a spike protein that is easily changed with mutations. In fact, the outside composition of viruses and bacteria is easily changed and one of the key components utilized to allow microbes to evade host immune responses. That is why natural immunity is superior, recognition of every component allows this mutation of the spike protien to become less impactful. This is why live attenuated viruses and bacteria, which have been utilized in vaccines previously given to humans, MMR, varicella, etc., are so effective.
