FACT! "Nessun Dorma" (Nobody Sleeps) from Puccini's Turandot is a top Tenor benchmark and Pavarotti crushes it. I would also suggest listening to Mario Lanza singing "Vesit La Giubba" (Put On The Mask) from "La Pagliacci".
@lucanton20883 жыл бұрын
@@emersonbolen784 It is actually Vesti la Giubba (Wear the Coat or Put on the Costume) and the Opera is "I Pagliacci" from 1893 Ruggero Leoncavallo original. Sorry couldn't resist to state the exact "FACTS". "I" is the italian plural article, if you want to refer to "la" "Pagliacci" you can say it as referring to the Opera Act (that is actually feminine in Italian). The original name is "Pagliacci" no article.

These ladies are absolutely lovely and are delightful to watch. It makes my day, seeing someone discover my favorite part of my favorite opera and have a true appreciation for it. Aretha Franklin was a friend of Pavarotti’s and she does a gorgeous version of “Nessun Dorma” as well and sings part of it in English. It’s definitely worth hearing, too.

It was made in 1995 but Pavarotti was perhaps even better a decade earlier. I’m always surprised these fairly young people think singing was somehow lesser in earlier decades. Pavarotti aside, the “golden age” of opera may have been the 1950s.
