I made my own propane metal melting furnace.

I made this a while back with the idea of making castings for my restorations. I now plan to make the greensand and the Moulding Flasks. I am currently gathering all the needed materials and equipment.
I have since done some modifications to this, I have cast the inside with furnace cement, having the fibers exposed is bad for your lungs (I did some research on that)

Be careful working with those ceramic fiber blankets. They can be bad for your lungs. If you have a spill inside of your smelter, what is your game plan for the cleanup?

Correct, before the first use I did cast it with cement on the inside, the upgraded version has no fibers exposed.

This was suprisingly expensive actually, the entire build cost me about $250 give or take.
