what do you mean with getting the extra point with the ev spread? at lvl 50+ you get 1 point in the stat per 4 ev. you just spread them different. am I wrong?

it has to do with the fact that the pokemon when used in pvp are lvl 50. so technically every 8 evs is 1 stat point. But the first 4 will give 1 stat point.
